The theory of evolution states that a more “evolved” life-form (the effect) stems from a simpler one (the cause)—in violation of both cause and effect and the second law of thermodynamics.

"in violation of... cause and effect"
You say that the effect comes after the cause. Then say that that's wrong, and that it's not how cause and effect works. What?
Oh, and please read off the second law of thermodynamics, then examine what exactly it means and get back to me.
something tells me you do not understand either cause and effect or the second law of thermodynamics.
Try actually studying the second law of thermodynamics, out of a real science textbook, not the ramblings of cretinits, you might learn something.
Nice work, fundamentally failing both physics and biology in one sentence. And, yes, "fundamentally failing" is definitely the operative phrase here.

Of course it's a closed system! UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy. If there were such a source, scientists would certainly know about it.

“The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics began at the Fall.”
This law says that the entropy (“disorder”) of the universe increases over time, and some have thought that this was the result of the Curse. However, disorder isn’t always harmful. An obvious example is digestion, breaking down large complex food molecules into their simple building blocks. Another is friction, which turns ordered mechanical energy into disordered heatotherwise Adam and Eve would have slipped as they walked with God in Eden! A less obvious example to laymen might be the sun heating the earthto a physical chemist, heat transfer from a hot object to a cold one is the classic case of the Second Law in action. Also, breathing is based on another classic Second Law process, gas moving from a high pressure to low pressure. Finally, all beneficial processes in the world, including the development from embryo to adult, increase the overall disorder of the universe, showing that the Second Law is not inherently a curse.
Your own bronze age myth apologists say you fail.
Ignoring the multitude of fail for a moment:
Wouldn't "cause and effect" indicate that the effect (a more evolved life-form) would always follow the cause (a less evolved one)?
Isn't that exactly what you say the TOE states?
Haven't you just shot your own argument full of holes?
(Draw a line from each question to the correct answer.)
(Yes) (Yes) (Yes)
1. The "evolved life form" is not the "effect," and the "simpler one" is not the "cause." The evolution of the old form to the new form is the effect; whatever CAUSED that evolutionary step is the...um, cause.
2. You're a moron. Thank you, drive through!
Good thing you don't know what you are talking about.
Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to heat my kettle to make tea.
That's so cute, you don't understand chemistry and you're lecturing us in biology.
At this point... well, hell, I could try it: "Suck my dick, there's a bunny inside."
Nobody laugh. I might be able to get a BJ out of this.
Wait a moment. You just said that the cause evolves into effect and then conclude that it violates "cause and effect"? Are you high?
And what the fuck is this fundie obsession with thermodynamics? Have you people even read the laws of thermodynamics?
Cause and effect don't disprove this, and that law only works in a closed system, we have the sun screwing up the results.
Is it ironic that this was posted on a magazine site called 'real truth'... or it ironic that the article tells us to "Review the evidence with an open mind. Do not allow any existing bias to blind you to this crucial understanding." and yet it makes statements that are incorrect and tells us that they are right.
edit:
Best quote from the site: "You will be amazed at what the scientific evidence reveals!"
If only they read their own articles.

I swear that I am going to have to get the laws of thermodynamics taught in schools. If only to stop the stupendously idiotic posts like this one.
@Mr Smith: "I swear that I am going to have to get the laws of thermodynamics taught in schools."
Aren't they?
I remember my high-school physics teacher explaining why an aircon will cool a room, while just opening the fridge door won't, having to work out the efficiency of an electric motor, etc.
aside from the closed system argument, and your other douchebag mistakes, you should not assume that a more evolved organism is a more complex organism. filling an evolutionary niche made available by various naturally selecting pressures and made possible by fluctuations in gene/allele proportions reflected in phenotypes *might* result in greater complexity, but then again it might not.
(you can google a lot of those words i used)
@tracer,
Good one!
@Bradford G. Schliefer,
The world is full of effects greater than causes. Either those darn scientists don't know what they're talking about, or you don't.
I pick choice number two.
Not the 2nd law of Thermodynamics again...
That only applies to closed systems. Earth is not a closed system.
Applying the 2LoT to terrestrial evolution is a severe violation of knowing what the fuck you're talking about.
Confused?
