How can atheists claim to know what is reality and what is delusional, is it I'm right your wrong logic?
are atheists the same people who would have called the Wright brothers crazy and delusional...because man can't fly...

Reality: As far as we can be certain, anything that be physically interacted with
(Formal definition: "That which exists objectively and in fact").
Delusion: Asserting that something is real despite the fact that no one else can physically interact with it, and having no evidential basis for making such an assertion.
(Formal definition: "unshakable belief in something untrue. These irrational beliefs defy normal reasoning..")
We are not saying that reality is exactly what we dictate it to be. We are saying that reality is pretty much confined to things that we can be rationally certain of, and religious beliefs are not among them. And yet, people claim that those same religious constructs exist, despite lack of evidence, or even evidence to the contrary. Hence, calling it a "delusion".
Atheists are the ones who would gather evidence to support their claims before making them. Kind of a "we'll believe it when we see it" philosophy.
Christians, especially fundamentalists, will see evidence and then claim that it's false if it doesn't match with their book. If the Bible said that man could not fly, then they would probably call the Wright brothers a hoax and state that American Airlines was the Anti-Christ.
People who don't believe in some supreme being were actually probably the first to believe man can fly; without the constraints of religion and some god, imaginations go further and tend to the extreme.
I think you need a new analogy.
I just got a funny image in my head of a mob of atheists brandishing torches and pitchforks....

Reality tends to be consistent and conform to known rules whereas delusion, well, doesn't. It's not really all that hard to differentiate between the two.
"are atheists the same people who would have called the Wright brothers crazy and delusional...because man can't fly..."
Powered flight doesn't go against any physical laws, despite what Lord Kelvin thought.
"are atheists the same people who would have called the Wright brothers crazy and delusional...because man can't fly..."
As I heard it, "If the good Lord wanted us to fly, He would have given us wings."
If I remember it isn´t written in the bible that man can fly, therefore you fundamentalists would be the ones who would say that flying isn´t possible.
Considering that the tower of bable was destroyed by got because it got too high, some of you might even say that aircraft are the work of Satan (as NoAstronomer already said), they allow you to get higher than any tower who might have been built in the bronze ages.
Yeah, 'cause the theists all came out in support of the Wright brothers.
You didn't hear about that? Must be because those dirty atheists covered it up.
No, but we're the same ones who call you crazy and delusional for saying man can fly, or walk on water, or cure diseases, or do anything similarly practical, without some scientific help.
We can't fly. However, we can build machines that can.
Another thing man can't seem do is grasp the fact that we are not permanent entities and that we will cease to exist one day. Therefore, we build religions to give ourselves eternal, blissful life.
It is just too hard to accept the reality of your own mortality, isn't it.
And the Wrights went on to prove they could fly. Christians can't prove their God, Jesus, heaven or hell even exist.
Reality proves itself. Prick us do we not bleed?
Actually, considering that the Wright Brother's (and their predecessors') work was scientifically sound, I'd wager that most atheists would have supported their efforts. They weren't just running off of blind faith that their machines could fly; instead, they carefully researched, planned, and tested their crafts.
Actually since we work on the principles of science. We understand how stuff works. Hence we still test claims of crazy things like remote viewing...
See mythbusters as a simple idea of how science "roughly" works.
atheist to Wright brothers ~ I don't believe you, prove it to me. (after the flight)~ Well whadayaknow, amazing.
fundie to Wright brothers ~ man was not meant to fly. If man was meant to fly God would have given him wings. (after the flight)~ Man was not meant to fly. If man was meant to fly God would have given him wings.
Do you see the difference?
The Wright brothers experimented. And experimented. And experimented some more. Their big-ass boxkite finally made it off the ground.
Other people tried the same thing and met with some measure of success, depending on how intelligent they were. Lessons were learned from the failures.
That is !Science! in action. The Reality of flight is very exacting, but if you follow the rules that the early experimenters discovered, you can do it.
Delusion, on the other hand, is evident in people who think they gonna float up in the air to be with Jesus, and get to heaven without croaking.
No but if the internet had been around at the time of the first flight, you can bet you'd see posts like:
"The Wright Brothers are hedonists, worshipping the false god of self. In their folly, they try to make themselves to be like the angels. Soaring above the earth is an affront to God. Hmmmm isn't the devil called the Prince of the Air? Really makes you think we're in the end times!!!!!!!!! Flight is of the devil!!!!!"
If the Wright brothers had shown me EVIDENCE they could fly, I would accept it.
Now where's your evidence for your supernatural sky-pixie again? And no, the buybull is the CLAIM, not the evidence.
Thought so...
Last time I checked, it was mostly fundies who said "If man was intended to fly, God would have given him wings"...
I know what's delusional; you are. Apparently you skipped every History, Physics AND English class.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
