Question about Evolution?
Humans and other primates have evolved from a prehistoric ape(s). In this case, us and the primates would have lots of connections with each other. And if that's true, shouldn't we be allowed to be engaged in sexual activities with other primates?

Even if we share 96% of the same DNA as a chimpanzee, I, for one, would not want to have sex with one.
What are you getting at?
Well, can we have sex other primates and produce an offspring? I've often wondered about this myself. Has anyone ever tried to inseminate a chimp with human semen? I'm kind of curious. How much DNA does a lion and a tiger share? What about a zebra with a horse? If they can breed with each other, can we?
It's called informed consent! Other primates are not able to give it, so it's not acceptable to have sex with them.
And why do fundies have such an obsession with bestiality anyway?
"B" knows that humans are primates, and knows we evolved from a common prehistoric ancestor? Hmmm. Too much knowledge. A real fundie would be trying to claim that evolution is about modern monkeys turning into modern humans.
I think this is just a really, really lonely evolutionary biologist who's trying to justify seeing his research specimens in a whole new light...
Um....If you really want to have sex with a chimp, I'm not stopping you. The chimp might object, but since they're a good bit stronger than humans, I'm sure it'll just beat the living shit out of you and go on it's merry, if vaguely distrubed, way.
Shouldn't we be allowed to be engaged in sexual activities with other primates?
Bah, just because we share 99% with fundies doesn't mean we should breed with them.
Sure, pal, go right ahead! I know you have desired it for a long time, you probably live on a farm somewhere in the US midwest and have now for a long time had *uumm* certain urges direct towards Dolly, your favorite cow.
Question about Reproduction?
Adult humans and baby humans have evolved from a prehistoric ape(s). In this case, us and the babies would have lots of connections with each other. And if that's true, shouldn't we be allowed to be engaged in sexual activities with babies?
[Hint: The answer is no.]
"And if that's true, shouldn't we be allowed to be engaged in sexual activities with other primates?"
Are you asking for a *ahem* specific reason? Saw a cute little macaque at the zoo did ya?
No, because...
A) We're still a different species from Gorillas and Chimpanzees.
and
B) They cannot consent to sex, just like any other animal.
I can't tell if this guy is trying to argue against evolution or justify some weird fetish for Bonobos.
Mmmm...
Somebody's horny!
o_O
Well, I have heard about some controversy about if humans and chimps really are seperate species, and if chimps should have human rights.
Some belive chimp-on-human was how AIDS in humans started, but that is obviously not true; something even an ape find disgusting.
Oh, you're a perverted one aren't you.
Depends on the laws where you live I guess. Personally I'd discourage it though, you see there is this thing called informed consent.
If you really want to...
But enjoy your AIDs.
"....shouldn't we be allowed to be engaged in sexual activities with other primates?"
well, knock yourself out. but bear in mind that it's illegal, and some them are pretty feisty.
If you want to be the *guinea pig* for the humanzee experiment, be my guest. I always found human females to be more attractive than non-human primates. Be advised, that other apes have more upper-body strength than we do, as humans are strongest in the legs. So if your date objects, she could break a few of your ribs.
shouldn't we be allowed to be engaged in sexual activities with other primates?
I'd like to see you try it, B., you macaque sucker. You might want to check out some primate body language first, though, perhaps you can catch a few Rick Baker movies.
@ fortean chicken,
Murder In The Rue Morgue, book and movie. Fiction, but addresses experimenting ape/human. Also there are ligers and tions - google pics. Around here there are dog/coyote mixes.
On edit; It's a story by E. A. Poe, considered the first detective story ever. Movies made in '32 and '86.
You are already allowed to engage in sexual activities with other primates. At least with those belonging to the species Homo sapiens sapiens.
As for other Primate species, well it might be problematic to get their consent. Could only work with some of the few individuals who learned some form of communication (Washoe for example)
If the animal in question gave consent, then why not? If the animal wants to, and the person wants to, where's the harm?
Yes.
They're called women.
Well if you do wan't then there is not much stoping you, just stay the fuck away from me you freak...
Repressed desires, so obvious sometimes
LOL
I knew this was gonna end up in FSTDT.
Just to let you all know, this wasn't a serious question and I already knew the answer. I just wanted to see what answers I would get from those who trust in evolution.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
