Has anyone else noticed that the end times beliefs of the other religions are also very similar to Christianity, only they seem to be from the other side of things, ie Satan's point of view. I saw some stuff about what the followers of Mohammed believe and it sounds very much like what we believe, only slightly different so as to make them ripe for deception when the Antichrist comes on the scene.
My jaw dropped when I read that the "Mahdi," the so-called redeemer that the Mohammedians are waiting for, will supposedly stay on the Earth for 7 years before the "Yaum al-Qiyamah," or Day of the Resurrection. {doh! smiley}
Sounds very similar to what will REALLY happen, when the Tribulation will happen as the Antichrist deceives for 7 years before our Lord Jesus comes .back to begin the Millenium.

Given that contemporary Evangelical tribulation/end-times theology is centuries younger than Islam, it wouldn't surprise me if such details were chosen specifically to cast Islam as demonic.

doperwtje - the Millenium is the period of 1,000 years in which Jesus supposedly rules over mankind before the very final battle in which he defeats Satan. Why Satan can't be killed now is beyond me, though. Not to mention that this has been predicted for a good 1,900 years now, despite the fact that it's coming "soon".
