[On Wall-E]
From the first moment of the film, my kids were bombarded with leftist propaganda about the evils of mankind. It's a shame, too, because the robot had promise. The story was just awful, however. Nice to see that Disney and Pixar can make mega-millions off of telling us just how greedy, lazy, and destructive we all are. There's no hope for mankind. Hand over your wallet.

The time honoured tradition that has made religion what it is today.
That isn’t even remotely the message I got from Wall-E. I absolutely love that movie, and will be giving copies of it away for Christmas this year.
With the help of the sentient beings they created, people left the comfort of their space barge (where everything was provided for them) and worked hard to restore the Earth and this, despite their being out of shape when they encountered the mountains of garbage their ancestors had left behind. It was a story of hope and regeneration; and while there was no mention of God, the survival and growing sentience of Wall-E was nothing short of a miracle.
I think it's a good message as it usually results in you wanting to be better than that.
"the day the Earth stood still" and "in the heat of the night" were some of the movies that infuenced me as a boy. We should be better, less mistrusting and warlike to those who are different
This is never taught in Fundieland
Ummm...I'm sure you're a Christian and have told your children for years how filthy and corrupted they are from birth in the eyes of god along with all of the rest of humanity, so why get upset if a movie about robots implies that humans are greedy and destructive? If they were holding a Bible while they said it, it would be good wholesome family entertainment, right?

Replace Disney and Pixar with "Evangelical Megachurches" and you're all set.
Leftist what?
All I saw was a fictional world in which people had created too much litter, so rather than deal with their problems, they absconded. When they returned to put a hard day's work in, their problems got better. What the hell is political about that? All the humans in that film besides Fred Willard just needed their cage rattled to stop being lazy and greedy.
We are greedy, lazy, and destructive.
Religious people are some of the worst.
I'll admit that I haven't seen the movie, but going on the very basic story line supplied (by real sources) Shannen pulled the typical fundie trick of walking out half way through the movie.
They always seem to get insulted by the way something is portrayed at the beginning of the movie and never seem to notice how things have changed by the end of the movie.
My only objection is that Wall-E looks too much like Number 5 from the Short Circuit movies.
I know Disney owns the studio that made Short Circuit but that actually makes me slightly more annoyed. Well, not annoyed exactly as to be honest I mostly don't really care.
I just saw Wall-E today and I thought it was pretty decent movie. It had a moral to it.
The humans had a huge pollution problem and instead of facing this problem and fixing it, they chose to run away from it by building this giant space colony far away from earth.
Halfway into the movie, the human space captian is inspired by Wall-E to stop being lazy and to return to earth and fix it' problem.
The film was about fixing your problems, instead of running away from them.
Well, that is what I saw in the movie anyway.
"leftist propaganda about the evils of mankind...There's no hope for mankind."
Liberals are the ones talking about the evils of mankind? Might I refer you to a wonderful little website called "Rapture Ready"?
"Nice to see that Disney and Pixar can make mega-millions off of telling us just how greedy, lazy, and destructive we all are"
Kind of a common theme, you know. And also an accurate one. Because we are greedy, lazy, and destructive collectively. It is human nature, it is evident in our society at almost every level, and it will be our downfall if we do not DO something about it.
I am sure that after you wrote this, you drove your SUV to your nearby Wal-Mart, picked up a 32 oz. cup of Coke, and proceeded to buy a lot of TV dinners for you and your children, correct?
That whooshing sound you heard was nothing more than the point of the movie.
What next?
Pokemon is real?
Confused?
