“I was disappointed.......I expected bells and whistles and bold letters saying "Life commence by...."”
Part of the reason Talkorigins EXISTS is to separate the reality of evolutionary theory from the preconceptions and prejudices of people who don’t want to understand the theory. In several places they explain that THIS science is about the diversity of life, not the star.
“I wanted to know how it began not what happened after.......”
And they explained why that’s not there.
"Arguements for creationism that I've heard are simple and staightforward...”
Simplistic, sure.
“yours are jargonistic,”
They’re trying to be accurate.
“long winded”
They usually say ‘what we know’ and describe ‘how we know it’ to stave off any accusations of it being made-up shit.
“and boring,”
Einstein found his math classes boring because he was much too smart for the topic.
My Oldest found math classes boring because he’s an idiot. Love him to death, really, and he’s got a wonderful heart, but he can’t math.
Same math, really, for both of them.
You’re either too smart for technical jargon or you’re too stupid. OR maybe just uneducated and unwilling to learn. Either way, you being bored doesn’t really impact the accuracy of the answers given.
“you lack opening paragraphs that make people want to read on...”
I always found them riveting. Sounds like you already knew you weren’t going to enjoy the post, essay, or paper.
“maybe that's me and you should provide a link to a kiddy site???”
They do. Look for the links page.
“This is the naughties, we want input in concise high speed form.”
No, you want bumper-stickers. Like what the Faithful provide you. Pithy and smug, but lacking any actual content.
That’s not TO’s style.
