Maybe someday, you'll bother to crack one open.

At that point you will see how stupid the book is.

If you're as stupid as you seem, you'll continue to believe the lies.

Lord of the Rings invented a *language*, culture and history, but I don't see any hobbits.

You're either not very wise yourself or you've not read the damned thing.

Yeah, like the way Judas died by hanging himself in one place and by falling headlong and bursting open in another place. That's some complex stuff there - dying twice by two different ways.

It's confusing as hell, too metaphorical, and contains way too much sex for younger children.

Did you finish high school?

The bible might be a book way to complex for a human 3000 years ago to compose correctly without containing any errors.

And this is why there are the errors we find.
For example the 4 legged insects, the rabbits that chew the cud, an ark that according to every modern knowledge in ship building with the imensions mentiond within the bible wouldn´t be stable enough to be seaworthy and would also have a problem with ventilation (meaning that during the long journey very probably all inhabitants would die of CO2 poisoning).
And because the bible is a collection of stories from many many authors we also find things that contradict each others, for example 2 diferent stories of creation or 2 genealogies of Jesus.

Matthew 11:12-14 The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard him say it.

Yep! Way too wise for a human to have thought that one up. I am humbled by the wisdom.

Start with Dr. Suess and work your way up.

Like insects having 4 legs and bats being birds.

Doctor Whom

Like the various punishments for rape victims or the passages relating to Lot's daughters? You might want to pull the shrink wrap off of yours.

...You DO realize that Moslems say much the same thing about the Qu'Ran?

I recommend you read a book like Dune or The Lord of the Rings. Imagination can do wonders.

Maybe for your feeble mind. At the risk of sounding arrogant, I've come up with better wisdom while taking a crap.

Even Fremen customs are less weird than the ancient Israelites.

Maybe you're just not smart enough because I've seen better writing in my 9th grade English class.

I'm sure Fek'lhr(sp?) will back me up when I say that the bible was much more complex and far wiser in the original Klingon.

The bible is what happened when someone ran the Klingon text through Babelfish.

God damn you're stupid.

7/8/2008 11:44:22 PM

Have you even read it?!?

Allegory for Jesus

Yeah....no. In fact, I would dare say that Christianity has the least "wisdom" of any religion that exists today (save, of course, Scientology). But, that is my opinion. Just like your view that it could not be written by men is your (stupid) opinion.
