And Christopher Columbus also 'saw' mermaids.
People have been making shit up for the entirety of human existence.

I saw Elvis in a UFO. Christopher Columbus was in there too. He said for me to tell you to keep spreading the word.
Then the LSD wore off and I realized that I was just making shit up, the same as you.

I believe UFOs are real. There are a lot of objects that fly that people couldn't identify. If we knew for certain that they were spacecraft, they wouldn't be unidentified, now would they.

What's a hyrogliphic? Some sort of alien spacecraft?

UFOs are sorta real, but they could be anything (hence the name Unidentified Flying Object)

Columbus was a ratbag whose skin got saved because he ran into a nice big island before he ran out of fresh water and food.
Nothing he did or believed would surprise me.

Well, if some musty old book full of ancient fables mentions them, and a whole bunch of people REALLY REALLY believe in them and talk about them all the time, and some Egyptian hieroglyphics kinda sorta look like UFOs, then they must be real. I'm converted! Where do I get my Believers in the Impossible membership kit and magic decoder ring?

Let's remember what a UFO is:
U - Unidentified
F - Flying
O - Object
That being said, I think anyone who DOESN'T believe in UFOs is a little off balance. I don't know about Ol' Chris and his water sightings, but I think we can all agree that there are things flying around this planet that are a complete mystery.

I doubt Columbus actually saw anything unexplainable, but I agree with you in the first sentence.
What's a hyrogliphic? Some sort of alien spacecraft?
What?! Seriously?! Fine, I won't be too mean, so...
Hieroglyphic is a form of "writing"(I shouldn't even call it writing) that uses pictures instead of words(or pictures to stand for letters) to form a sentence.
An example:
You're welcome.

Of course UFOs are real. But UFO =/= alien. (Well, necessarily anyways). But since we haven't yet gotten one tangible evidence of an extraterrestrial entity, well... UFOs are just UFOs as in Unidentified Flying Object. We'll talk more, if some new evidence of E.T. pops up.
