If a woman is pastor, I do not go to that church. I also steer clear of "co-pastored" churches. At the churches I have attended, Pastor's wife sometimes plays piano, keeps nursery, or sits near front with her family. She never gets up to speak in services (only praise reports when prompted and the like).

Yeah...keep those pig-ignorant b****es quiet and in their place. Who knows what kind of trouble letting them talk will lead to? After all they (as represented by Eve) fell for Satan's line of bull back in the garden. Thanks for the Original Sin, whores.
Now kick off those shoes and get on your back. It's time you earned your keep here on planet Earth.
If there is such a thing as a god (man has invented 6718 one-true gods to date) He, She or It would certainly not live in a pile of bricks, timber and glass.
Your ignorance, bigotry and stupidity puts your christianity in denial.
In my church, all the women receive a complete and utter beat-down at the age of 11. Then, and only then, are they considered to be almost human. We are the church driven by the word of the one true loving gawd.
Sadly, this is how they think. When I was christian I was constantly told what to do, what to wear, to give up films and books that I liked and that I was sinning against god if my (abusive) husband wasn't in charge.
The pastor even gave me a copy of 'The Fascinating Girl' to read; this is basically an instruction manual on how to become a male-guided automaton. I told him it was a training manual for Stepford Wives and returned it within three days. A week later I gave up on christianity in general.
I mean, if you can't do anything right, why bother?
How dare they blaspheme Jesus Christ in such a fashion as to allow a woman to play the piano! Women are to bear children, tend to children, and please their men at his commnad, and that is it! Having a talent and whoring it in front of an audience will send that uppity slut straight to hell!!
You even let them out of the kitchen in the first place? Did not realise they made chains that long.
FFS. We are living in the 21st century, not the 11th... Come and join us, it's really not that bad.
Allegory: And if she's playing the piano to please the men, what then? (At least, I'll trust you're not narrowing "please" to just sexual strands...) I hope there aren't sects that would constrain even the men to narrow what they specifically name as allowable for their wives.
Anyway...what are "praise reports"? Knowing how fundamentalists throw around the word "praise", it's not something I like the sound of.
there's a bit in the babble that seems to contradict the "women keep silent" tract. I can't place it at the moment, so I'm sorry I can't give a citation, but it is there because it was raised at the Church of England synod.
It talks about equality between the sexes, and between free and enslaved, rixh and poor - all equal in Christ.
Strange the fundie end of the Xian market ignores this!
What most "moderate" Christians don't want to admit is that guys like this are actually following the Bible (I Timothy 2:12, I Corinthians 14:35). Even better than the part where it says women are not allowed to teach men (since "Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.") is the part right after, where we learn women's real value in the eyes of Yahweh: "But women will be saved through childbearing--if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety"(I Timothy 2:15).
Maybe if Christians were expected to actually do what their scary book tells them to do, there would be fewer suckers signing up. (Especially when they got to the parts about selling everything they own and giving it to the poor, and about giving away anything someone asks them for and not wanting it back!)
My _____ and his wife are hardcore pentacostal fundies, and she's the pastor of their church.
I'll let them know they're sinnin' against Teh Lard--they'll love that.
The worst part is it's the women slamming the idea of Women Pastors. I guess it's easier for them to take a few smacks upside the head rather than learn to use it for themselves.
They may want to look up Deborah in Judges.
The coolest pastors I've ever known were (with one exception) women. Mrs Hope, for example--awesome, embodied the REAL Christian ethic of tolerance, love, and hard work. Mrs Vicky--ditto, plus she had this little poodle that she brought to church, and the poodle would do tricks during the children's sermon to illustrate Mrs Vicky's points.

Yesterday at Westminster Abbey, central place of worship of the Church of England, basis of modern Protestant Christianity...:

Archdeacon. Pastor. In the whole Protestant hierarchy & pecking order scheme of things, I think I know who is the superior clergyperson here.
Your argument is invalid, gitaia.
