All I here from atheists is don't Force you God on me, Wouldn't that make them hypocrites?
No. WE'RE not the ones trying to legislate our morality. WE'RE not the ones who take advantage of people at their lowest points. WE'RE not the ones who scare children into believing with threats of hellfire. WE'RE not the ones who poison peoples minds with the promise of an end of the world, where the righteous will be saved...okay, maybe you're not a Rapturite, but the point still stands. We just ask not to be forced to believe as you do. Believe whatever you want. Believe Jesus will ride to earth on a unicorn that farts rainbows and moonbeams, I don't care, just don't expect me to.
Atheist insist that there is no God, which in it's self is a ridiculous claim, because the Earth, is in the exact orbit with the perfect tilt and axis to support life that if we were any closer to the sun we would melt, and if we were any farther we would freeze, but that is besides the point.
The "exact orbit" that varies by millions of miles through the year? Look up the word "elliptical," honey, and apply it to "elliptical orbit."
I know why Christians speak about Jesus, because it is commanded by us by Jesus Himself, and it is are job to go and tell the world of Christ.
Yeah, that makes it true because all religions are all about keeping their way secret...people flock to the religions no one harps on them about...it's called advertising. Even back then, they realized that if you get the believers to recruit for you, the work gets done faster, and the coffers fill appropriately.
My question is more centered toward the atheist that are so jaded by life, that they insist on dragging people to hell with them. If there is no God, why do atheists get so offended about hearing about Him?
We don't get offended by hearing about him. We get offended by being harped at, nagged at, and forced to adhere to your way of life, even if we don't agree with you.
If it is a fictional story why not just listen to it and move on.
Hard not to, when you try and shoehorn it into law, and our educational system. I could say the same about the rabid fundies snarling about evolution being taught in school, you know...
I think they are scared that if they are wrong that they are going to Hell and misery loves company.
The very concept that blows gaping holes in your God is Love argument, and the nail in the coffin for your religion for me. If God is Love, then how can he have the capacity to send even the most heinous, bloodthirsty mongrel to be tortured for eternity, without even the chance to redeem himself (And don't give me the he had his whole life to redeem himself crap. if he's conscious and aware in the afterlife, the chance should still be there, too.) And a God who condemns to hell for the crime of not believing in him is a monster, to be blunt. And I will not worship a monster.
Hell is a scary thing; I have heard many people say that Hell is Okay, because that’s where all my friends are at.
What kind of friend would relish that fact that their friend will suffer for all eternity
It's a joke. Here's a hint. They likely don't believe in hell either.
The belief that there is nothing after death is scary to me. Could you imagine nothingness, just to stop existing as we know it.
So...it's false because you find it unappealing? I find AIDS and wife beaters to be unappealing, but they're real, too.
I have bet on Jesus not with a blind faith, but to something that makes very logical since, and I thank Jesus everyday that he would die for me.
But every time I hear the logic of people trying to convert others, I fail to see any. It usually boils down to either Paschal's (Now widely voided) Wager, and cries of "Turn or Burn!"
It’s like you or I becoming an ant, and retaining your knowledge trying to save them from their fates, and being spit on and crucified for loving them, for just wanting to be with them.
Uh?
So why are you so offended by that extraordinary love story? Shouldn’t you be more moved and bewildered that He would die for an ant like you or me?
First. Because the crucifixion makes no sense. God didn't ask for a sacrifice, Jesus was point blank murdered. Martyred. And somehow, in doing that, it gave God the Omnipotent the ability to absolve us of something he made us inherently prone to. but only if you really, truly believe...he's only the savior of man who believes. Second, because you don't present it as a story. You present it as fiat, and demand that I change myself to appease him. however, when one mentions a few stumbling points you have in your savior's eyes, the phrase "not perfect, but forgiven" gets hurled about showing your true hypocrisy. You don't convert people out of love, you convert them out of a need for control.
