This is poe I bet, but since I have nothing else to do...
okay why the heck wont teachers have religion at school i mean its the 2nd ammendment freedom of religion!!!!
What does freedom of religion have to do with the right to bear arms?
and i carry a small bible around at school the teacher saw it and she was like well if i see that here again i'll give u a detention
Lying for Jesus? If not, she probably told you to put it away because you were bothering other students with it.
but isn't that basically against the law???? plz let me know
Is what against the law?
Answer :do they allow Harry Potter books? that's a religion!
No. Just no.
sue the school for discrimination.
No. Just no.
"2nd ammendment freedom of religion!!!!"
It means people are free to believe what they want, not for others to push it on other people.
"but isn't that basically against the law"
It's not against the law, but you should get a detention if you push that bible into someone else's brain. That you're actually right, the teacher shouldn't have threatened you like that. I carry a book on witchcraft and no one bitches (cept for christians).
"do they allow Harry Potter books? that's a religion!"
No it's not, dumbass. Like your holy bible, it's fantasy.
"sue the school for discrimination."
Or you can hold up a "God hates you" sign and see if that works, Dumbass.
If you want and education, go to public school
If you want a religious education go to church or a Christian School.
2nd Ammendment: Right to Bear Arms
Please have someone proof read your story before you hand it in next time.
Hm, if she threatened lovefights just because she was carrying a bible around, then it was definitly a bit too extreme.
If however lovefights used the bible to actively try to convert people around her (and maybe didn´t stop when the teacher appeared), then of course the reaction was justified.
The Second Amendment:
"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
What exactly are you trying to say here?
"do they allow Harry Potter books? that's a religion! "
They have math books. That's a religion too.
"okay why the heck wont teachers have religion at school i mean its the 2nd ammendment freedom of religion!!!!"
But apparently they don't have social studies books!!!!!!
Lying for Jesus about getting detention for carrying a bible to school. I saw people bring it and the Book of Mormon to school all the time, even reading it during class when they had spare time or weren't paying attention.
And come on...the 2nd amendment?
Because teaching things that are firmly rooted in fact is what school is for. If you want to be taught religion, go to one of your local Christian schools, I'm sure they'd be delighted to have you.
Harry Potter is also not a religion. It's a decent FANTASY book series (up until book 6--was jumping that shark scary, Jo...?) but far, far, far from being anything resembling a religion.
"okay why the heck wont teachers have religion at school i mean its the 2nd ammendment freedom of religion!!!!"
If it's a publicly funded school then it's a separation of Church and State issue you moron. It's certainly not a 2nd Amendment issue.
"and i carry a small bible around at school the teacher saw it and she was like well if i see that here again i'll give u a detention. but isn't that basically against the law????"
Yes. It is against the law. Call the ACLU unless you think it's some sort of evil Satanic entity out to persecute you Christians.
"do they allow Harry Potter books? that's a religion!"
I see the person answering is as ill informed as the one doing the asking.
For fucks sake. Religion isn't BANNED from schools. Individuals can still pray on their own, or with their friends if they want. However, a teacher or principle cannot LEAD a classroom in prayer, as it excludes those who aren't Christian.
i carry a small bible around at school the teacher saw it and she was like well if i see that here again i'll give u a detention. but isn't that basically against the law?
Probably, yes. Teachers aren't lawyers, and some are over-cautious about allowing anything religious in school.
"but isn't that basically against the law????"
Um, yeah. Teachers aren't allowed to bring their religion, but I don't think they can tell you not to bring yours.
Preaching in class is out of the question, but just carrying a Bible seems perfectly fine.
"Answer :do they allow Harry Potter books? that's a religion!"
Your mom's a religion!!
Actually, it might be against the law to force students to put away a religious text (if they don't do the same for every text not related to the lesson at hand).
Also, Harry Potter is not a religion. Witchcraft is not a religion. The witchcraft condemned in the Bible is not the same thing as fantasy magic/witchcraft, which does not use Satan as a power source, due to it being fiction (and a fiction distinct from the Bible's). And witchcraft (of any variety, fantasy flavored, church of Satan flavored, or Bible flavored) is not the same as Wicca (which actually is a religion).
There, covered almost every route you could go with your idiocy. Please, scurry along...
Despite what the Harry Potheads say, no, it's not a religion.
Now Jedi Knights on the other hand...
Wow! Fail in the first degree. No, freedom of religion is the first amendment. The second is right to bear arms. Harry Potter is not a religion and unless you were preaching at people and shoving your beliefs down their throats, then you're right, the teacher had no right to threaten to punish you for carrying a bible.
okay why the heck wont teachers have religion at school i mean its the 2nd ammendment freedom of religion!!!!
No you idiot, it's the 1st ammendment.
and i carry a small bible around at school the teacher saw it and she was like well if i see that here again i'll give u a detention. but isn't that basically against the law????
Well, judging by your grammar, you're not learning anything. She probably thinks you spend classtime reading the bible instead of actually learning grammar.
Answer :do they allow Harry Potter books? that's a religion!
J.k. Rowlling is a christian you stupid moron. Harry potter is not a religion.
'Answer :do they allow Harry Potter books? that's a religion!'
Utter Bullshit. Harry Potter books may have a huge following, but that does not make them a religion.
Well, assuming this isn't a Poe, I give this quote a '3.' The poster is obviously stupid, and their claim that Harry Potter is a religious text is simply absurd. However, if lovefights' teacher actually prohibited him/her from carrying a Bible to school, then the teacher is clearly out of line and would, in fact, be in violation of lovefights' freedom of religion. That is assuming, of course, that lovefights is only carrying the Bible to school for personal use and is not using it to harass other students.
okay why the heck wont teachers have religion at school i mean its the 2nd ammendment freedom of religion!!!!
That's the first ammendment you moron.
and i carry a small bible around at school the teacher saw it and she was like well if i see that here again i'll give u a detention.
Why do you need to carry your bible around school anyway?
Answer :do they allow Harry Potter books? that's a religion!
Yes, and so is the Wizzard of Oz and The Lord of The Rings.
Maybe you should pay attention to your classes and school work and stop worrying about your little bible being taken away.
Clearly you were threatened with detention because you were reading your bible instead of paying attention in your Constitutional Studies class.
And where is this Church of Harry Potter? I'd like to join. Those teach many more moral lessons than the bible.
"okay why the heck wont teachers have religion at school"
Kitzmiller vs. Dover. Do you know it, bitch?
Harry Potter is fiction, not religion.
Then again, the Bible is fiction as well. Of course, it isn't fit for children to read. That is the difference.
Confused?
