The time it takes for star light to reach the earth, should not be used to gauge when the star was formed, or how old the earth is, or any other time measure. In Creationism, God could have very easily created the star with the starlight already reaching the earth, so it really gauges absolutely nothing.

In Creationism, God could have very easily...
Nobody cares what "god could have very easily" done. As history/science/truth, that clause means: Some nameless idiot "could have very easily" pulled the whole planet out of his ass.

We don't. We can see them in other parts of this galaxy.
or how old the earth is,
We don't. There's radiometric dating.
or any other time measure. In Creationism, God could have very easily created the star with the starlight already reaching the earth, so it really gauges absolutely nothing.
Because goddidit.
God could have very easily created the star with the starlight already reaching the earth...
In other words, Jehovah is deliberately attempting to deceive us. Given this example of lying why would anyone trust Him on anything else He had to say?
"In Creationism, God could have very easily created the star with the starlight already reaching the earth, so it really gauges absolutely nothing."
Why don't you people realize that when you say stupid shit like this you're making your god into a trickster deity. If he's lying to you then you have no reason to believe anything else that's said in your Babble.
Soooo... there's a chance that the world hasn't actually been created yet, but that we're only experiencing the memories we'll have when he does.
Is that what you're saying?
Yeah... Well why don't you prove that then? After all if you want to against all odds be taken seriously as some kind of science you do occassionaly have to present evidence. Now I know that you creationists aren't very good with evidence, but if you want to be taken seriously "could haves" and asspulls aren't gonna help.
So,,, your God could have created a star, but couldn't defeat iron chariots ?
Well then, I guess we can't find out anything about the universe!
...and this is why Creationism is called a "science stopper".
In Creationism, God could have very easily created the star with the starlight already reaching the earth, so it really gauges absolutely nothing.
In that case, in the Bible, God could have just as easily created a whole BS story about talking snakes and making a woman out of a man's rib. Once you allow that God deliberately fudges reality to fool us into believing crap that never happened, where does it stop?

In other words, "Don't enquire, and you won't disprove our factually-incorrect hypothesis, which we know to be false (secretly, of course!)."
There is a verse somewhere in one of the Letters (Paul's or Peter's, I think, but could someone please tell me?) that states we should not enquire nor debate! OMG!
Your god would have far, far too much time on his hands, then. "Hey, let's make the light from these stars already halfway towards the earth, for no good reason other than it'll be a laugh" is kinda the thing that I'd imagine a god would only want to do while high.

And in atheism, he can't. Where does that leave us?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
