I truly mean this in the most loving way possible: If you can see Metallica as anything other than satanically inspired, you are self-deceived.

Metallica? Didn't they make a little song called "Creeping Death" about the book of Exodus? Then again, their other early lyrics (first three albums are the only Metallica really worth listening to) aren't exactly fundy-friendly.
Wonder what this guy would think about Mercyful Fate?
"By the symbols of the creator
I swear henceforth to be
A faithful servant of his most
Puissant archangel
The Prince Lucifer
Whom the creator designated as his regent
And Lord of this World
I deny Jesus Christ...the deceiver
And I abjure the Christian faith
Holding in contempt all of it's works
As a being now possessed of a human body
In this world I swear to give my full
Allegiance to it's lawful master,
To worship him our
Lord Satan and no other
In the name of Satan, the ruler of Earth
Open wide the gates of Hell
And come forth from the abyss
By these names: Satan, Leviathan,
Belial, Lucifer
I will kiss the goat."
- The Oath
And don't get me started on black metal.
Lyrics to The God That Failed:
I see faith in your eyes
Never your hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail
Follow the God that failed

I truly mean this in the most sensitive way possible: If you think the alternative is anything other than the biggest load of fucking bullshit, you are a Bible-deceived fundie moron cuntbrain. There's a reason why the phrase 'The Devil has all the best tunes' exists, and it can be summed up in just One Word:
Stryper.
I weep.
No matter how many Metallica fans think they weren't commercial ( why make an album at all, except for profit? ) they were, from day one. They had a market plan, they were ambitious, they were talented, they suceeded.
No matter how much Christians think Hard Rock is from Satan, they're wrong. Christianity is, from day one, a con, a market plan, if you pulled the con right and are ambitious, you'll suceed
Difference between the two? Metallica gave us an actual product.
Confused?
