If this is truly how you felt, then you wouldn't condone that it's good that gays marry, but you would give them the right to do that if they wish.

I think someone put too many Pop Rocks in their mouth and drank some Coca Cola at the same time.

Ok, let's just check the context and... this is fucked up.
Apparently, we should let parents arbitrarily neglect, beat, and chop off parts of their children just in case we're wrong to say no. Yeah, that's how you play it safe.

No, they don't have the right to do that, ever heard of children's rights?
Probably not.

What the fuck is wrong with you people? Haven't you ever heard of "your rights end where another's begin?"
The world DOES NOT revolve around you! Jesus! (Speaking of, if he exists, he certainly must frown on you for condoning this bullshit, which you ARE condoning if you think parents have a right to do it.)

No child should be abused AT ALL.
Any person can procreate, being a parent is something diffrent entirely. Not everyone can be a parent.

No parent has the right to abuse their child, simply because children are people too and have the right to not be abused.

Nobody, parent or not has the right to ever abuse any child. I'm so happy that I don't have to live my life according to a 2000 year old book that says I have such a right.

What about the
rights of the child
to be treated with kindness and respect, just as any other human being?
I have a pin from "Children's Right In Society" (a Swedish non-profit organization) that says "Children are unbeatable". I'd like to buy a few more and nail them to the forehead of Mr Haylow here.

Not in civilized society they don't. But some think they're living in a Theocracy where this shits allowed or ignored

Fine. Do you also acknowledge that the children have a right to defend themselves when they get old enough to fight back? To abandon said parents at their earliest convenience? To dump them in a cut-rate nursing home? To be carried off by Social Services?
Of course you don't. You are a coward, and a bully.

Do you feel the same way about abusing cocaine, or would you execute users?
