This is clearly a guy who had issues with women. There's no precedent for Paul's words in either the teaching of Jesus or the Old Testament. He invented this stuff himself out of his own sexually dysfunctional head.
This guy is misinformed. I dug out my bible for this one and, as I thought: Paul is playing devil's advocate here. He goes on to say "If anyone thinks they are spiritually gifted or a prophet, let them hear what I have to say."
Wrong, except in fundie churches where they let Paul outrank Jesus. The first person that Jesus picked to show himself to after he arose from the dead was Mary Magdalene, a WOMAN, not a one of the two male disciples(John and Peter)who were also in the Garden. Then Mary went and told the other disciples that "He is risen, I have seen him"! JESUS PICKED A WOMAN TO BE THE VERY FIRST PERSON TO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF THE RISEN CHRIST, dumbass. To Christ's very own MALE apostles, yet. You guys really ought to read your own Bible(outside cherry-picked Paul and cherry-picked Old Testament).

I like how Paul talks about how, if anyone is moved by the Spirit to speak, everyone else has to STFU and let them speak... and then pulls the "oh, but the women have to STFU all the time" crap.

I don't know why they just don't call themselves Paulians and let it be. They clearly don't worship any mythical creature - just a man who thought like they do. I mean, fundie men have it good under Paul's system. It always favors them, no matter what, so why should they change?

2. "Let your women keep silent ...." You own women? How much for the lot? Got any "breeders" in there? How is this not reflective of the Dark Ages? Maybe this is a gross misunderstanding and Paul was speaking directly to you, and all the free-range women are free to do as they wish!
