OK, I'm assuming that means any gay or lesbian couple, from any state, can take a trip to MA and get married while they are there. But do they understand that as soon as they leave MA, and return home, everything goes back to the way it was before the trip? This needs to be nationally publicised. Then, maybe most of the gay and lesbian couples will move to MA so they can remain married. Sounds great to me! Helps us "get rid" of another unwanted element and dump it all in Massachusetts. And we didn't have to do anything to make it happen. MA did it all for us. Thanks Patriot Patsy State.

I'm rather in favour of finding the State with the lowest natural resources and poorest infrastructure, moving the sensible residents out to nicer parts of the country, and dumping all the fundies there, behind a big wall, and let them have their Jesusland theocracy.

Of course, they will no longer be part of the US, but they never wanted to 'render unto caeser' or be 'part of the world', anyway.

Then we get to sit back and watch them eat themselves alive.

Wrong. If you leagally get married in one state and move to another, you are still married. Or that little trip my husband and I made to Reno would have been wasted.

@Joules: States' rights. Each state has its own lesser form of government, so certain rules of one state don't apply to another. You find fundies harping on this a lot when talking about gay marriage, but they strangely don't agree with it when evolution and abortion come up.

A state must recognize the acts of another state. That's why your state-issued driver's license is valid everywhere. A state may not TAX the residents of another state, nor may it regulate intersate commerce, levy tarriffs, or enter a treaty with a foreign nation. New York may not sign a trade agreement with the EU, and Massachusetts may not try to rebuild its one-time shoe industry by placing a high tax- a tarriff on shoes made outside the state.
