THAT IS TOO FUNNY!! I keep doing the same thing! I keep turning the television down multiple times during the day/night because I think I hear "trumpets" blowing. I don't sleep well at night and awake at every little noise so needless to say, my head is always popping up and down! I live near RR tracks and I will hear the train whistle but not positive it's the train's whistle...it just might be it, I say to myself. My kids laugh every time I hit the "mute" button and smash my ear to the window!! I just keep saying, "It could be, and if not now, it's going to be soon!"

And you're nuts.

Mad as a Hatter

Better have your water tested for lead levels.

Another funny thing: you'll eventually need to have broken glass pulled out of your face because you're an idiot.

I too keep saying, "It could be, and if not now, it's going to be soon!"

That is not funny in any way. That is merely sad. The idea that you will gleefully ignore the beauty and majesty of the world in which you live for such a short time in order to attempt to anticipate an event for which is there is absolutely no evidence, physically, scripturally or scientifically demonstrates that you are a complete waste of resources and space.
Get an education, do something with your life, make a difference to the here and now. Leave something for which you will be remembered and you will 'live' eternally.
Carry on the way you are and your death will go unnoticed and unremarked until your trailer park neighbours complain about the smell.

Is there a possible link between the rise of insomia, more sleeping medications on the market and the belief in the rapture?

Smashed Heads

Schizophrenia for jesus?

I think you're deluding yourself. I mean, you're expecting these "trumpets" so much that you're imagining you're hearing them and can't distinguish between reality and what you though you heard.

The rapture! Coming soon, to a lunatic asylum near you!

Are you saying Herb Alpert & The TJB are planning a comeback concert in a field near your house?

Sentry Gun

People like you kept saying that for thousands of years. What makes you think you will be right ?

"My kids laugh every time...", their faith weakened a little more, and their eyes opened to the stupidity of your beliefs and the reality in which they actually live. Maybe. I'm an optimist...

The fact that your own kids laught at you ought to tell you something.

Aural hallucinations are a serious matter, my lady. If I was you, I'd consult a neurologist immediately.

Very sad. She has a family that probably relies on her, yet she's more interested in this fantasy of some magical other world.

Just as bad as the people who play World of Warcraft for days at a time.

If your husband thinks tea causes auditory hallucinations, then you have some powerful stuff. Probably made from LSD and ground up dinosaur bones.

It sounds like Jubilee and Maribeth are terrified that if they miss the sound of the trumpet, they'll be overlooked by God and forgotten here on Earth with the rest of the damned.

3/8/2013 8:27:45 PM

Two things:
1.) If the end of the world was coming about, I sincerely doubt you'd miss it, so no need to jump up to any peep or sound.

2.) You are dedicating your life to keeping a constant, unending vigil for the end of time, yet us atheists are gloomy ones with no sense of self worth, and doing nothing with our lives. Right.

3/8/2013 11:39:57 PM

Your kids have more sense than you.
