[Hellbeast washed up on New York shore]
"The beast looks a bit like a dog"
Yew shore?:

Eineus the Vergest* (l) is apparently a 'Hellhound' - but she resembles a catgirl., from the above scene in the anime series "Macademi Wasshoi"**
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magician%27s_Academy
'"She is a relatively ethical character in the show." She is actually a type of demonic beast, called Vergest, and she is known to be the strongest among them all. Eitarou has her dressed up as a dog-girl maid'
"Either way, it's definitely a portent of the coming apocalypse."
Oh, you know nothing, my friend. In the above scene (from episode 5), her master Eitarou Sakuma (r, a la "Neon Genesis Evangelion"'s Gendo Ikari) is supervising the effortts in containing/defeating ... That Which Must Not Be Seen. That which, if even Cthulhu himself were to lay eyes upon such, results in instant, terminal madness. 'It'. That which is infinitely worse than Evil itself.
*- Known here in Yorkshire as 'Barghest':
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barghest
(emphasis added):
'A famous Barghest was said to live near Darlington who was said to take the form of a headless man (who would vanish in flames), a headless lady, a white cat, a dog, rabbit and black dog
So even those in Japan know about Yorkshire folklore, see thi' by 'eck, tha' knows! X3
**- Basically "Harry Potter" on crack. Imagine if Terry Gilliam had been given the "HP" books, the facilities of an anime studio, a blank cheque, and told 'Do what the fuck you like!'. It's extremely silly, and a whole lot of fun. I mean - a deadly 'Supernatural' (or 'non-magic magic user') who - upon the application of bunny ears - becomes tsundere?! 0_o; X3
