Why do people try so hard to disprove god?
god is love and hope, jesus lived and died for our sins, we have the bible which was wrote by the prophets and diciples. it is first hand accounts wrote down by people who followed god and witnessed miracles. yet we won't accept that as being good enough but we believe everything in history books isn't that what the bible is the oldest history book we have? the most important one we have? why is there so many people who want to disprove gods existance? is it because we don't want to have to answer for our actions? or are people afraid that if heavens real than that means hell is too? i don't understand why to some people religion can be so offensive, just because we can't see the oxygen we breath does that mean its not real either? in many ways you can see god are people just afraid to look?

Anyone who is dumb enough to accept everything they read in a history book is probably dumb enough to take the Bible at face value. Most of what we know about history comes from, myths, legends, lies, spin, and sometimes outright dishonesty amongst ancient scholars. Nothing in a history book should be taken 100% seriously, unless other history books by different authors and from different times agree with it.
why is there so many people who want to disprove gods existance? is it because we don't want to have to answer for our actions?
Everyone has to answer for their actions. Whether it's to other people, the courts, or themselves. The idea of God, especially the Christian God is a get out of sin free card. He doesn't stop Christians from sinning because if a Christian does sin, it doesn't matter because they are automatically forgiven because they ate Jesus' flesh or something.
No the reason why people try to disprove God is because they can see that the majority of the world is living in a lie, and they want to free them from that lie.
A pet peeve, here.
Breath- noun- the air that moves in and out of our bodies.
Breathe- verb- to move air in and out of our bodies.
Spellcheck won't help you, because the word is spelled correctly- you have to use your brain, and know the difference.
But that's probably too much to ask.
P.S. No, I do not believe everything in history books. History is not what happened. History is what was written down.
"written" is the correct word not "wrote".
BTW: Don't you think that since you don't know as much as others about something as simple as grammer that perhaps they might know more about other things than you as well?
Because people prefer truth over a lie.
Bible oldest history book? Prove it. And just FYI, the bible is a plagarised version of some even OLDER stories.
Yes, the whole reason we don't believe in your god is because we fear him. We're so afraid of the punishment that he doles out to unbelievers that we refuse to believe.
Don't you see how nonsensical that is?
If Lord of the Rings or Salvatore's writings were written approx 4000 years ago, we would be worshipping Ilmater.
I'd be lore-keeper of Oghma, that's for sure.
Well, it's a pretty thought.
" i don't understand why to some people religion can be so offensive"
Because "religious" people shove it down our throats when we've alreay decided we're uninterested and would like to go about our lives unmolested. I don't waste my time trying to disprove god, but I really wish people would preach Jesus, not his disciples. If you look closely, you'll find Peter and Paul have very different things to say than Jesus does. Personally, if I could find a church that actually taught what jesus says, I'd be there. But few do.
"..isn't that what the bible is the oldest history book we have?"
No, as it isn't a history book. It isn't even the oldest holy text still in use. Supposedly, that title goes to the Rigveda.
Not that age means authenticity.
A "first hand account"? Written by people who never lived during the life of Jesus, and whose accounts contradict each other? Translated and interpreted a thousand times? You are seriously deluded. Try giving that kind of account of an event as evidence in court, and watch the judge throw your testimony out as worthless.
The Bible wasn't written down until about 300 years after Jesus supposedly lived. So no, it's not first-hand accounts, and they were not WRITTEN down by the people who witnessed the miracles.
There are written records that are much older than the Bible.
Most atheists don't care enough to try to disprove someone/something that has no evidence of its existence in the first place.
We still have to answer for our actions, to the people around us, to the government, to the law enforcement.
Religion can be so offensive, because it tries to control people's lives, it makes good people do bad things, it destroys the lives of many people.
We can test that the oxygen is there. We can't test that God or Brahman or Thor is there.
kibbles18? Is that your age, dearie? This seems a bit childish and a mix of what others have said rather than something you've thought out yourself.
Confused?
