Yet when people like Nero and Marcus Aurelius thought the same about Christians you called it persecution. Go figure.

Why would people choose to be gay? That's just the question that we've been posing to people like you all this time.
8/1/2008 10:15:20 PM
Yeah! They should just get with the program. Drop all this "We're special people and you're persecuting us" shit.
Wait, what? You weren't talking about ignorant fundie fanatics?
8/1/2008 10:19:18 PM
It called a free society.

Somebody played football in high school.

What a choice.[/sarcasm]

You really are a jerk.
I would have enjoyed seeing you tell this to Rosa Parks or Lawrence King.

You're a big fan of pro wrestling aren't you?

From what he says he may just be a homophobe rather than a Fundy. Though judging by his avatar (a girly Jesus hugging a baby ... velociraptor?) we can be pretty sure he fits in with the others here.

More deep understanding, tollerance, and compassion from the fine folks at RR.
8/1/2008 11:32:06 PM
I dunno. That's a pretty cool avatar. It's obvious that Jesus is just grooming it so he can ride it when it grows up. I mean, we all know a deity-incarnate riding a dinosaur would be freakin' sweet.

I find it difficult to understand why those who purposely live their lives so far out of the mainstream would deem it necessary to have their lives so widely accepted. If one
desires the same rights and privileges as that of normal society, then they should conform to those same standards. If they don't, let's kill 'em.

Allegory for Jesus
"so far out of
"deem it necessary to
have their lives so widely accepted"
"They", despite living (intentionally or not) outside of the mainstream. probably don't want "acceptance" (as in positive affirmation), but they also don't want to be outright condemned just for the fact that they aren't seen as "normal", by whatever arbitrary definition that is supposed to have. They want to not be shunned and despised and to have such bias reinforced socially. Whether that is calling for "acceptance" or not is a matter of which definition for the word you are using.
desires the same rights and privilages as
that of normal society, then they should
conform to those same standards."
If you aren't [insert arbitrary majority group here] you don't deserve rights? I hope that you aren't a member of a racial, ethnic, religious, political, economic, or intellectual minority, or else you may have shot yourself in the foot repeatedly...

That would be some hattrick, everyone becoming a WASP. Good luck with that.

Fundie and Asperger's.
Two things that always seem to go together.

I'm an Aspie, and I'm not a fundie.
Please be more careful about what you say in the future. D:

Yes, let's all be good little unthinking autonomous drones. (robot voice) OBEY THE MAJORITY.
Been to room 101 a lot Fred ?
EDIT : Yeah, this kind of shit really pisses me off, because it reminds me of high school and how shitheads like that would hassle me for being different. I simply can't understand why people as individuals would all want to be the same. We're all different THAT's our similarity.
This is a fascist statement !

"Unless we each conform...unless we obey orders...unless we follow our leaders blindly - there is no possible way we can remain free."

Someone's been to Room 101 quite a few times, by the sound of it.

"I find it difficult to understand why those who purposely live"
Stop your boring lies. Nowadays, science tells us that sexuality is not a choice and homophobes like yourself are likely simply angry (subconsciously) that they cannot live out their own homosexual fantasies, which they often keep well away from conscious thought. Maybe, having committed to a partner it is not appropriate for you to do so anyways, but how are you worse off than anyone else in that case? Most people find it difficult to understand why anyone CARES what some OTHER couples are doing.
"If one desires the same rights and privilages as that of normal society, then they should conform to those same standards."
Using the impersonal 'one' shows your attitudes towards others who implicitly threaten your privileges. I say 'implicit' because any recognition of other social groups will only come at the expense of YOUR social group getting humbled and having to play fair like everyone else. In the words of Jello Biafra, you're just scared shitless of the fact that even #1 will one day have to grow up and share.

How dare those left handed people want common tools re-engineered so they can use them. There is no reason to create left-handed scissors or can openers for less than 10% of the population.
Oh, that's not the group your talking about?
8/2/2008 5:09:48 AM
If you truly believe that you must always conform to the norm, then your life will end up being wasted. People who don't fit the norm deserve to be accepted by others, so long as their actions don't hurt other people. What kind of loser are you?
