I know believers have anticipated the end times every decade, especially after WW2. HOWEVER...
From the 40's to the late 90's-everyone was grasping for straws.
Now-the writing is ON the wall.

"We've been wrong before, for decades on end for every decade for the past two thousand years...but, dog-gone-it, we must be right this time! I can feel it in my bone!"
"Now-the writing is ON the wall. "
Yup.
You're gonna die.
And your pathetic existence is nothing more than a ripple ... in the sea.
-Shiva's at the Vulcan ...
Yeah WW1 & WW2 was a perfectly calm time compared to NOW!
The difference is I wasn't born yet. Now I exist, Now! you can come and completely destroy the planet Lord Jesus!
Everybody before me was wrong, but I'm right because I can feel it!
I believe a number of gold prospectors died with those exact words on their lips.
Please, I cannot see this wall. Where is it? What language is the writing in? What does it say?
BTW, isn't the expression 'grasping at straws'?
Hey, BornAgain123, trying to set a date for the Rapture, no matter how vague, is against Rapture Ready's forum rules.

Because believers are silly sheeple.
"From the 40's to the late 90's-everyone was grasping for straws."
I wasn't. My parents, although quite fundie themselves, weren't either.
"Now-the writing is ON the wall."
Oh noes!!!!1!! Wipe it off NOW before it stains!
From the [...] to the [...]-everyone was grasping for straws.
Now-the writing is ON the wall.
That's what they all said, sure enough, you betcha.
Now-the writing is ON the wall.
Yeah, but they've been saying that, too, since the first century.
Now-the writing is ON the wall.
And it says you have been weighed in the balance, and found wanting.
Actual Biblical reference, there. Nobody at RR will get it, though; Daniel isn't one of the bits of the Tanakh their pastors ever mentioned.
what about the people who have been saying it's been coming since the late 90's?
To be quite frank, it seems kinds presumptuous of you to expect your one out of 144,000 people in the world. Oh, did you skip that section of Revelation?
Right, and just how many books concerning Biblical prophecy in the news have been written in the last 30 years? For awhile the USSR fit perfectly into "Biblical prophecy" and all the good little True Christians bought into it. Then the Soviet Union fell, the book were quietly revised and no good True Christian has ever realized that they've been had.
It's always the same with the rapture crowd. The remind me of my dog, always living in the moment with no hindsight or foresight. An ok state of being for a dog, terrible for a human.
Amen, Traitor1. When the Soviet Union ceased to exist, Hal Lindsey simply claimed that the Islamic religion as a collective whole will play the Soviet Union's role in the End-Times.
And if that threat disappears, something else will take its place...

Decades doesn't cut it, dear, even centuries are too limited. People have been anticipating the end times for millennia, maybe even longer. It would not surprise me if some of the Neanderthals thought about it too.
Every single one predicting the Armageddon has said "The others were wrong. THIS is the one".
"From the 40's to the late 90's-everyone was grasping for straws."
At least when Joe Namath was asked if the New York Jets would win - three days before Superbowl III in 1969 - he replied "I guarantee it", he had a 50-50 chance of his prediction coming true.
"Now-the writing is ON the wall."
Which you'll be saying this time in 2020. And 2030. And 2040...
To borrow the slogan from Men's Wearhouse CEO, George Zimmer:
'I guarantee it '.
Just consider that. Also whilst the clock strikes midnight tonight wherever you are BornAgain123 (and everyone on Ruptured Retards) think on this:
Every day the (C)Rapture hasn't happened, is one more day we Atheists are proved right.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
