Quote# 44049

Married people attempting to raise children with the hope that they, in turn, will be reproductively successful, have every reason to oppose the normalization of homosexual unions.

It's about grandchildren. That's what all life is about. It's not enough just to spawn -- your offspring must grow up in circumstances that will maximize their reproductive opportunities.

So you're saying you don't want an Asian grandchild because your gay son adopted?

Bisexuals always manage to get left out of everyone's hate parade.

I r teh sad.

I always thought the Hokey-Pokey was what it was all about.

We're almost 7 billion on this planet. Many have no place to live, no food to eat. Should we reproduce for the heck of it? For our own enjoyment? Screw that. We don't need more people right now. We're not on the brink of extinction.

@Robbie

It's weird, isn't it? Most people don't seem to think that bisexuals even exist.

How fucking selfish can you be? Destroying people's chances at being a life long relationship just so you can call yourself a grandparent.

So it's ok for your grandkids to be gay then? Just asking.

We need more white people. More white Mormon people. Teh colors are takin' over the country 'n they ain't even Mormon.

If all you get out of life is to have grand kids well then fuck you.

Right. Because we're dying out as a species.

So we are all mindless beasts who have to obey the regeneration imperative?

What about Paul? He wasn't married. It's argued that he had no interest in women either as partners or as people. He seems mysigynistic - a very anti Jewish/anti-Jesus kind of thing. It is held that it point to a desire for men - which he tried to suppress. But then he went travelling with his male companion... Hmmm.

But to return to your point about having grandchildren, Paul said something about being eunuchs for god... Eunuchs don't have children. How do you square that particular circle? You're in a bind there, my stupid friend. Learn your Bible.

Don't choose your own path, kids, breed for Mom and Pop's retirement fund! I can smell the not-so-subtle hint of racism under all this: the real concern for fundies is that there aren't enough lily-white babies being born to nice white Christian families.

@ Robbie and LOLWUT -

We are too grey for the fundie types, who always see the world in black and white.

A sexual orientation =/= whether you can reproduce or not.

Oh, yeah - you're an asshole as well.

Married people attempting to raise children with the hope that they, in turn, will be reproductively successful, have every reason to oppose the normalization of homosexual unions.

Frankly I don't see a causal connection between heterosexuals hoping for grandchildren and the question of homosexual marriage. My wife and I (both of whom are in favor of gay marriage) will most likely wind up having grandchildren whether or not fruits are married.

It's about grandchildren. That's what all life is about.

Your life, perhaps, Orson. My life is about taking advantage of every worthwhile opportunity that comes my way. Let's try that old-fashioned approach to living where no one tries to force others to live according to their personal values.

It's not enough just to spawn -- your offspring must grow up in circumstances that will maximize their reproductive opportunities.

Why? There are six and a half billion Humans on this planet. Maybe it's time we exercised some self-control and stopped breeding as if we're trying to rebuild the Human race.

I always thought your books sucked, Orson, and now I know why.

So, it's all just a big fuck-fest? All those people who seek truth, beauty, intellectual stimulation, meaningful companionship or understanding of the universe are just wasting time which should be spent reproducing? Do you realise that your argument is exactly that which fundies like you generally use to construct atheist/evolutionary strawmen and then rabidly denounce as immoral?

I really think that if we ever manage to get off this hunk of rock we impose exit restrictions based on IQ, attitude and philosophy.

Otherwise we release these fucktards like a virus on the galaxy, that they'll then overpopulate with more of tehir kind, and then expect the dispised intellectualls, atheist scientists (and the gays probably) to find a way out for them - another galaxy maybe, os a more SF type solution. While they continue to breed like rabbits in a bunny reservation..

Hey Orson, did it dawn on your that gays come from heterosexual couples? If being homosexual was 'learned', there should be none?

I love listening to your little piss-ant fundies try to defend archaic, meaningless rituals. Makes me laugh. If Matrix was here, he'd laugh too..

I think he secretly wants to fuck his granddaughters.

Seriously, though. I work in a library. And it is now my mission to see that his books set untouched on the shelf until...well, forever.

Being a religionist, you are compelled to evangelize. Your mistake is that you are projecting your unfortunate fixation upon people who would like simply to be accepted as they are, and that their life partnerships acquire civil legitimacy.
