That entire thread is stupid beyond belief. Come to think of it, the level of stupidity on most of Youtube is just unbelievable.

"also, you assume that dying and suffering are bad."
because God did it, right? God can't do anything evil, even if the action he does is evil, like killing millions of innocents in a giant worldwide flood... And they claim we're the moral relativists.
Either that, or "Because they'll go to hebbin if they believed in Jebbus"?
I seriously don't get how people suffering and dieing can be good.

OK. So I've got fantastic friends who are Christians. I mean the "fantastic" part, they're great, caring, wonderful people. But I have to say that there's nothing that annoys me more than Christians talking about their Free Will fantasy. It's ridiculous and frankly a bit scary how far some will go to absolve their god(s) (or cult idol) of any and all blame for His or Her actions.
If I bred a new dog breed to be as aggressive to other dogs as possible, and I sold one of these Dogkiller pups, could I sit back and feign surprise when they came to me with accusations after their dog killed and ate a poodle?
Not my fault. The dog has free will. Would you rather it was a robot?
Not my fault. You, the owners, have free will and should've taken better care of your dog.
Not my fault. And even if it was, hey, there's supposed to be challenges to dog-keeping.
Now my fault. And hey, making the dog perfect would make it easy for you to believe I was good at breeding dogs, and I wouldn't want that, would I?
Seriously, sometimes I wonder if they can hear themselves.

For your horrendous display of sheer idiocy, you are hereby stripped of your rank. Furthermore, you will be dishonorably discharged from humanity.
Have a nice day.

So the virus was willed into existence by people? Gee, would that work? Maybe I could will a stack of hundreds into existence. No - wait a minute - doesn't that violate the Second Law of Thermodynamics? ;-)

And here we were told, back in the 80's, that a green monkey was the cause.

Well, I guess that means monkeys have free will, then. Many of them have been diagnosed with the HIV virus.

Y'know, it just popped into my head that Adam and Eve DIDN'T have "free will" before they ate the fruit.
God told them not to touch it, and they blindly obeyed until the snake told Eve to eat it, and she again did as she was told.
Not that it's any less of a fictional tale, but still... God apparently did NOT intend us to think for ourselves, and was obviously powerless to prevent it. :-P

Just saying "(free will)" does not make it true.
And how in the name of all that is holy do you propose that human actions created a VIRUS!

I'm having trouble finding the good parts of suffering or dying. So far I'm not having much luck.

So, we have free will and God is NOT in control of everything?
And NOT omniscient? He should have seen that coming.
Explain yourself.

I thought that Viruses didn't have a free will of their own. And neither did the humans when they inadvertedly passed it and caught it from the monkeys.
