Can anybody give me a truthful reason why they are atheist or agnostic?
Is it because you are so rebellious and prideful that nothing can be smarter more powerful and loved more than you or is it because you just have a hard time beleiving truth without seeing? no disrespect intended but I'd really like to know.

I'm an atheist because I can't reconcile any decision with myself that is based off of superstition and the writings of men who lived over 2,000 years ago. My guess is as good as yours, but my money is on what we have evidence supporting.
Never tried this before buuuttt:
Can anybody give me a truthful reason why they are a fundie?
Is it because you are so brainwashed and mentally lazy that nothing can be smarter more powerful and loved more than you or is it because you just have to keep beleiving fantasies about men made from dirt and rib women? no disrespect intended but I'd really like to know.
Fixed(?)
"have a hard time beleiving(sic) truth without seeing"
Dumb shit can't even spell believing.
Try starting with evidence.
"Can anybody give me a truthful reason why they are atheist or agnostic?"
Oh I definitely could, but...
"Is it because you are so rebellious and prideful that nothing can be smarter more powerful and loved more than you or is it because you just have a hard time beleiving truth without seeing? no disrespect intended but I'd really like to know."
I highly doubt you would listen. :P
Is it because you are so rebellious and prideful that nothing can be smarter more powerful and loved more than you
Some people are smarter than me. Some people are more powerful than me (and some non-conscious forces in the universe definitely are). Some people are more loved than me.
So no.
or is it because you just have a hard time beleiving truth without seeing?
I have a hard time believing what someone 2,500 years ago randomly asserted was the truth without any corroborating evidence whatsoever without seeing, yes.
No disrespect intended, but answer yes or no: Have you stopped beating your wife?
Nah, I'm just kidding -- actually, I intended plenty of disrespect.

Religion is an impediment to my spiritual growth.
Any religion. Here's the reason: no living person has any authority over another's spirit. And there are too many people who fancy themselves to be the right hand of god.
Even in the UU.
I am an agnostic because I can see no definitive proof that there cannot possibly be a God or Gods, but some of the followers of those beings reflect the Loving and caring that reflect the goodness of their religious claims. But I am an agnostic also some of the followers of those beings use their beliefs as an excuse to narrow their Gods to fit their own personal bigotry, self-righteous priggery, and hatred of their fellow man.
"Is it because you are so rebellious and prideful that nothing can be smarter more powerful and loved more than you or is it because you just have a hard time beleiving truth without seeing?"
It's the second, and how smart you are to figure it out! If I do not see that organized religion is true, in fact if what I DO see tells me that it's dishonest and pathetic, I won't believe it.
Very good.
Boy, talk about a loaded question! Your 2 possible answers are:
1)You're a arrogant bastard
or
2)You're blind to the truth
No thanks, I decline to answer.
I am an atheist because there is no credible evidence supporting a belief in a god.
P.S. The Bible is not credible evidence.
P.P.S. Thank you so much for assuming that my answer will not be truthful.
Yes, it's because I'm rebellious and prideful. Also, religion interferes with my hobby, which is burning down orphanages.
"No disrespect intended but I'd really like to know."
The fact that the sentence before this was nothing BUT disrespectful as well as assumptive tells me that you're a liar and an asshole. All disrespect intended.
"Is it because you are so rebellious and prideful that nothing can be smarter more powerful and loved more than you"
Yep...exactly it.
"or is it because you just have a hard time beleiving truth without seeing?"
Nope. I believe in leprechauns, aliens, ghosts, bigfoot, the loch ness monster, dragons, demonic entities, alternate dimension midgets, time travelling robots, zombies, and an electable Ralph Nader without seeing them. I just don't think that there is a God, despite having an equal amount of proof for existing as all those other things. Seems arbitrary, huh? Well, I guess you know how every other religion feels about your religious convictions, now...
'Cause I killed God with a rusty spoon, so I know there is no god (any more).
Does this stupid response answer your stupid question?
"because you just have a hard time beleiving truth without seeing?"
Lack of evidence, and also evidence towards the contrary. You freaking nailed it.
I became an agnostic when I first started studying evolutionary theory and realised the bible was not literally true. I became disillusioned with Christianity when I was at bible camp and when I asked questions of the teachers about how to reconcile science and faith, they just ignored me. After my own research, both biblical and scientific I had to come to the conclusion that Christianity was not based on fact.
I then took a class in religious studies and learned about the history of the Abrahamic religions (really interesting I would recommend it). That completely convinced me that religions are merely human constructs. I admit that I did not spend too much time on the other religions like hinduism, shinto etc. But I was pretty convinced they were much of a muchness. There is no evidence that a God that cares about humanity exists. There is no evidence that a God exists at all.
Then I read The God Delusion and realised that my agnostism was really atheism.
The thing I've always wondered about theists, is how they can't notice the inconsistencies in their own religion. I am certainly not the only one to notice that things don't add up. Is it because you are so rebellious and prideful that you think that you couldn't possibly be wrong? Or is that you have a hard time believing the truth?
Can anybody give me a truthful reason why they are atheist or agnostic?
Is it because you're a sick, evil, twisted excuse for a human being that even Jesus doesn't love? Or is it because you actually want your lord and master Satan to wipe his butt with your head for all eternity? Which is it?
No disrespect intended but I'd really like to know.
(I like my version better.)
"Can anybody give me a truthful reason why they are atheist or agnostic?"
Because there is no evidence for the existence of any Gods. Additionally every holy book ever written is a steaming pile of myth and bullshit.
Is it because you are so rebellious and prideful that nothing can be smarter more powerful and loved more than you...
No, but just because I may not be the smartest, most powerful, or most loved person in the world doesn't mean that I think that a God must exist. Just that at least one person exists that has these qualities in a greater amount than I do.
or is it because you just have a hard time beleiving truth without seeing?
Not without seeing, but without evidence. I don't need to see something to believe in it, but I do need some evidence. Proof of God's existence wouldn't necessarily mean that I'd have to see Him, but only that I would have some type of evidence of his existence.
no disrespect intended...
Bullshit. The various attacks of character that you have written speak otherwise.
"That's all I wanted, the truth, no one with hurt pride cussing me out."
No one there was cussing you out, you dick. Not to say that you don't deserve it, ya arrogant bastard. Coming up with these "theories" on what "drives" a person to atheism is equivalent to an unbeliever walking up and asking you, "So, why do you believe in God? Are you just that deluded, or do you just want to be the center of the universe?" If anyone who answered you was pissed, & you can't figure out why, you're a damn moron.
And putting "no disrespect" is little more than admitting that you ARE disrespecting someone and slapping the disclaimer on as a distraction.
The truth is that the most arrogant and offensive person on that page was you, Kenny. An honor you get to keep by virtue of me ignoring your question.
Once you understand why you dismiss all other gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours!
This response is problematic, and I'll tell you why:
Many fundies actually do believe in the existence of other gods. They just call them demons, and they're deathly afraid of them. Same with magic and witches and so forth. What they mean by they "don't believe" in these things is: "I believe that supernatural things like magic and other gods and such are real, but they're Evil and will take me straight to Hell."
A truthful reason? Why would I give a false reason?
I became more and more agnostic the more I learned about religion and all the atrocities done in its name, until it simply did not make sense any more, and I became an atheist.
I don't think that nothing can be smarter than me; that would be a really stupid thing to do. I know that my IQ is well above average, but it's certainly not at genius level.
I don't have a hard time "beleiving" without seeing. There is often evidence that can't be seen with the human eye, That doesn't mean it's not there, as there are other ways to prove things. If there is no evidence whatsoever, then yes, I don't believe; I don't believe in the Invisible Pink Unicorn or the Flying Spaghetti Monster or YHWH or the Easter Bunny.
I was never indoctrinated, I also didn't know what an Atheist even was until 10 or 12ish.
I actually had to catch up to church going kids when it came to knowing about Biblical things or Christian practices. Funny thing is I knew more about both then most Christians by the time I was thirty. Helped that I loved myth and eventually studied (life experience and research) social orders. Helped also that Ontario was almost entirely moderate Christian who tolerate non-believers easily.
And yes, I do have a hard time believing in stories without evidence, another label for Atheists is Realists. Being a pessimistic realist, myself, makes Atheism a given, really.
Hold on, I'll be back,,,,
yep, just googled optimistic realist and it is considered contradictory to nearly being an oxymoron, I guess that makes pessimistic realist a nearly redundant phrase.
I can sure waste time, gotta give me that.
Is it pride that makes me a non believer?
No, actually just the opposite. It is because I have humility enough to realize that we don't have all the answers, and making up the answers as place holders will get us nowhere.
"Can anybody give me a truthful reason why they are atheist or agnostic?"
It's because God doesn't exist. Derp.
And a rainbow doesn't physically exist, yet it can be seen ; there's the whole concept of the so-called 'Spiritual'/'Supernatural' completely fucked, then. PROTIP: Morgan Freeman in "Bruce Almighty". And Princess Celestia in "MLP:FiM" is a God too [/Ra, the Aten], yet she appears to her subjects in Equestria, so if those mere examples in visual fiction - as per the fiction that is the Bible - don't give you the fucking hint as to why I'm an Atheist, then...!
I mean, what's stopping him from doing a Morgan Freeman to everyone in the world now if he's as 'Omnipotent ' as you lot claim he is? Aye, and there's the 'Faith'-raping rub, indeed. Ergo, Atheism .
The more you know.
NEXT!
Can you give me a truthful reason why you believe some made-up religious shit from 2000 years ago?
Is it because you are just a moron and believe any ridiculous claim without any evidence? No disrespect intended but I'd really like to know.
Confused?
