I totally believe in oil drilling, and finding more sources. Even if we get the alternatives people are talking about, (wind, solar) oil products will always be needed. That is unless you know of a way to fly without jet fuel. Same goes for trains and diesel. Besides, the third world doesn't give a rip about all this and they are the ones "killing this planet" more so than we ever will.
As for me I have a huge carbon footprint and green plants love me for it. God is pretty sharp and He made a way to deal with Co2, since He knew we may need such a plan some day.
The day man views the planet as so fragile God needs our help to save it, we make ourselves far more important than we can ever be. The arrogance of that mindset to me is profound. I suppose it is to be expected since man has long had an inflated self image.
[And it isn't arrogant to think that gawd will help you out of all of your problems?]

Yeah sure keep fucking up the planet I'm sure your God will be happy to come down an clean up the mess that you made
Even if it were the case and God does exist do you think he would be happy if he had to clean up your mess?
I'm amazed by the lack of logic displayed by the AGW deniers. "Country x is not doing enough, so we shouldn't do anything either" is exceptionally frustrating an argument even for them, though.

Dear, sweet, loving Christians, from my fantastic friends to the fundies who make my jaw drop and my fur bristle:
Please, please, PLEASE read your fucking Bibles! Sigh... "stewards of the Earth", anyone?
And either way, it's not as if fundies, when confronted with every other problem ranging from theft to rape to war to natural disasters, pull the "omg we have free will, it's up to us to fix it!!111" BS. C'mon, fundies, be consistent, will ya?
"As for me I have a huge carbon footprint and green plants love me for it. God is pretty sharp and He made a way to deal with Co2, since He knew we may need such a plan some day."
He says as another tree is felled to provide paper for the brochures about the latest gas guzzling tank of an SUV
he's going to buy to maintain his status and huge carbon footprint.
"That is unless you know of a way to fly without jet fuel"
I just freaking saw a news article about the military trying alternative jet fuels made out of natural gas.
"the third world doesn't give a rip about all this and they are the ones "killing this planet" more so than we ever will."
The third world doesn't drive everywhere. In fact, they don't have cars.
Besides, we're going to run out of oil eventually, and it's stupid to think that God's going to save your ass while you sit there like an idiot.

You don't quite understand how greenhouse gases work, do you? Mass deforestation + overproduction of greenhouse gases = excess pollution in our atmosphere, which in turn leads to our planet being exposed to more and more harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun, along with other cosmic radiation.
I don't know why you think its okay to trash this beautiful planet that we live on.
You are the ones who think it is a gift from God and you don't care about that gift. Not only for us living here now, but future generations.
The arrogance of THAT mindset to me is profound.
Trains without diesel? we've got those all over France, they're very fast (more than 300 km/h, that's 200 mph using retarded units), they're electric (that's 85% nuclear here), and they beat records of frequentation this summer (although the company was obviously not prepared to deal with such large numbers... :-()
I totally believe in not befouling nature preserves to extract petroleum products which are ruining or world.
We need to help the 3rd world "give a rip" about global warming and other environmental issues.
Please prove that "God is pretty sharp." This, of course, will entail your proving that God exists. You'll want to get started right away as that could take quite some time.
Don't you idiots believe in good stewardship of God's creation? No definition of good stewardship can include a "huge carbon footprint" and your careless attitude toward any type of environmental concerns.
For the most part, epic FAIL.
If I remember correctly, there are a few products to where we have yet to develop an efficient synthesis for. Most things however, we can figure out how to make without reliance on fossil fuels.
Biodiesel is a good example--I've seen it made with vegetable oil, HEET, and lye. If made correctly, it works just fine in the majority of diesel engines and allegedly costs only between eighty cents to a dollar per gallon.
Yeeeeaaaah! It's not us, typing away furiously on our itty-bitty computers...it's those starving folks in third world countries. How dare they? Driving their honking great SUVs around the slums.
Oh, and there's a gaping flaw in the first sentence. Oil products don't necessarily have to come from fossil fuels- and there are a couple of theories as to how we could go about making them, so it's not necessarily as if not drilling would mean going without.
...That is unless you know of a way to make fossil fuels last forever?
Has this idiot seen any of the 'slash and burn' tactics? The global deforestations? The polluted and toxic water supplies? Salinated ground that can't support plant life anymore? The Chernobyl disaster?
Probably can't see with ones' head shoved up ones' ass.
I wonder what would happen if somebody suggested to them that maybe their much-vaunted God has decided to let us ("his children", as I believe they call humanity) clean up our own mess.
They already believe God is our parent.
There comes a time when a parent stops claeaning up after their kids, and starts making the kids clean up after themselves.
Perhaps their God has done the same too us.
I wonder if that line of reasoning would make them stop their idiotic denial of the problem.
"oil products will always be needed. That is unless you know of a way to fly without jet fuel. Same goes for trains and diesel."
Yeah, no one has ever thought of a new fuel for trains *cough*coal *cough*diesel *cough*electic *cough*mag-lift *cough*
"He made a way to deal with Co2"
I had no idea that Cobalt-2 was a problem.
Or even a real isotope.
Edit: Dammit, Ledgerweed beat me to it!
Eric: The capital letters are there for a reason.
Of course they are, Eric! Caps are for showing unbelievers just how strongly you feel and how very correct you are!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
