Why would atheists celebrate.............
...................the winter solstice, the shortest and darkest day of the year?
Most of them don't. It is a marking of the change of seasons, nothing more
Well maybe, it's because of the shortest expectation for the eternal salvation of their soul - none
Huh? Most atheist don't belive in souls, or eternal salvation. We leave mythology to the theists.
But alas, forever is forever, and they can't likely escape eternal damnation
Again, not a concept that worries most atheist, {i]because they don't belive in your mythology
We Christ_ians celebrate Christ_mass because it is the beginning of the new covenant in the blood of Christ, Christ paying our redemption from sin and to restore salvation to our souls
I thought that was the crucifixtion? Get your own mythology straight.
And to think, atheists turn their back on that simply because they are in love with the things of the flesh.
For most atheists,non-belief has nothing to do with "love with the things of the flesh", it has to do with the lack of proof in a god or gods. And not a single religion has been able to demonstrate that there is anything beyond "things of the flesh".
As much as you would like to paint all atheists as hedonistic pleasure seekers who don't belive in god because it would be "inconvenient" to they're pleasure seeking, It is simply not true, and no amount of shouting "atheists turn their back on that simply because they are in love with the things of the flesh." will make it so.
