I believe that God or some God-like power exists in the universe. I cannot prove that God exists, but I might be able to prove that it is impossible for God to not exist...

A guy I know proved that God exists by using mathematical formulas for volume of cone and cylinder. Then nice people in white coats took him to the assylum :)
So, my point is, good luck with that endeavour, Zippo. You'll need it.
Fundamentalism =/= belief, superstition, religion, theism, deism (which is perhaps particularly appropriate here), etc.
Fundamentalism =/= bad logic, being wrong, or even saying something just plain stupid.
"I believe that God or some God-like power exists in the universe" is hardly a fundamentalist statement.
And, since he isn't being an ass about anything either, I can't find any reason for this quote to be here.
Agree with Typhon, I don't see anything fundie about this either. He's just saying he believes there's some higher power and "might" be able to prove it, not adamantly stating it as fact or saying he's got the one true answer. Too bad they aren't all this reasonable.
Good luck with that. People have been trying for about 10 000 years, but of course, you are smrter than all them, combined.
Double Negative.
A = A x -1 x -1
“I believe that God or some God-like power exists in the universe.”
Twenty quatloos that after much cogitation and research, you believe in the god that your parents raised you to believe in. Yes?
“I cannot prove that God exists,”
Fair enough, you can’t prove to me that YOU exist. It’s just easier if i accept that as true.
“but I might be able to prove that it is impossible for God to not exist..”
Exactly what do you imagine this proof looking like?
I see a lot of god-of-the-gaps arguments. Science doesn’t know X, therefore God must be doing it.
Like how bumblebees fly, or some other bullshit question.
But, like, how did life start? How would you begin to craft an experiment that proves EVERY OTHER POSSIBLE WAY was impossible, and only DIVINE POWER could be the explanation?
Confused?
