And another lost quote.

Wait, are you talking about evolution or creationism? Coz that sounds a lot more like creationism.

"Evolution has about 10-15 years left in it before the evidence against it will be overwhelmingly undeniable."
Yeah, it's really stumbling along at this point.
"It already is pretty obvious that it didn't happen that way,"
Absolutely. You just have to read the Bible.
"...the tide is shifting in the academic world..."
Sure. Intelligent Design papers are even making their way into Nature and Cell now. That's pretty good.
"...but still too many scientists have made a career of promoting evolution so they won't be changing their tune this late in the game."
Of course not. We all know they're wrong, but it's just political. They're not really taken seriously anymore.
"It helps alot that evolutionists are so incredibly arrogant and dogmatic too, slandering and insulting anyone who has a different opinion."
It's just because they know that their game is up. They have lost track of what it means to be a scientist.
"This should speed up the rate at which the world grows weary of this silly little wive's tale."
Sure. In fact both the NIH and the European Commission have implied that they will start new funding for Intelligent Design-based research intiatives...

It's spelled Porsche, moron.
And you fail biology.

"The Imminent Demise of Evolution: The Longest Running Falsehood in Creationism"
by G.R. Morton
Says it all really.

"Creationism has about 10-15 years left in it before the evidence against it will be overwhelmingly undeniable. IT'S already pretty obvious (to people with a higher-than-a-beast IQ, at least) that it didn't happen that way. The tide is staying where it is because too many scientists have made a career of collecting the evidence of evolution that's all around us that creationists can't understand. To make them see that they are worshipping a invisible magic sky fairy that doesn't DO anything would just crush those poor feeble minds.
It helps alot that creationists are so incredibly arrogant and dogmatically indoctrinated that their only defense is slander and insults. This will speed up the rate at which the world will be growing weary of this idiotic nonsense."
I like mine better.

The imminent death of evolution has been predicted for over 100 years. Granted, that is nothing for people who have been saying for 2,000 years that Jesus will come "soon." Even so, if you think the the wicked specter of evolution is just going to vanish in your lifetime, well, I wouldn't be too sure if I were you.

Allegory for Jesus
"Evolution has about 10-15 years left in it before the evidence against it will be overwhelmingly undeniable. It already is pretty obvious that it didn't happen that way, the tide is shifting in the academic world "
So ass-backwards that I can only imagine what role this person has in academia. The major role that's coming to mind though is "None".

That is SUCH a shiny mirror you have, can I borrow it? Please?

Scientists will change their tune of the evidence to justify such a change should surface. However, the scientific foundations on which evolution is based are so strong that the prospects of it being proven wholly false are even smaller than the chance of the Rapture happening at 12:34 Eastern Time, next Thursday.
Creationism has so much evidence against it that it is this wholly discredited and preposterous theory which will continue to lose adherents in the future.
Waking up to the reality of a situation and having a laugh at those who are stuck in the Dark Ages isn't slander. What fundie cretins love to call "evolutionists" have one weapon in their arsenal that creotards don't - we happen to be right. That isn't much more "dogmatic" than insisting that Paris is the captial city of France. It is merely the stating of a fact.
8/9/2010 12:27:04 AM
Science is not that dogmatic. Every scientist dreams of finding the new item that changes everything, the species no-one has heard of. In order to find that, they all have to think outside the box.
If anything is speeding up, it's the amount of atheists and non-religious people in the world. Guess which silly little wives' tale those people are weary of...
8/9/2010 5:41:30 AM
Looks like another F in biology.
8/9/2010 9:39:02 AM
I genuinely feel BAD for these fundies. They honestly BELIEVE their God is bearing witness to their faith and that they're doing right. They think that blatantly ignoring all the facts and evidence makes them BETTER, because it curries favor with their God.
Atheists like me, on the other hand, don't have to "believe" in any single concept with such blind devotion. I always take the attitude that my "theories" about the universe could one day be proven wrong. That's what someone does when he has logic and reason on his side. If I know ANYTHING it's that ideas and definitions change. I think that's refreshing, I'm not threatened by it.
8/9/2010 10:17:59 AM
For fundamentalist christians there are two things that are always just around the corner, the rapture and the fall of evolution.
8/9/2010 11:05:00 AM
Fail biology much Porscha?
And it's spelled PORSCHE bitch!

"It helps alot that evolutionists are so incredibly arrogant and dogmatic too, slandering and insulting anyone who has a different opinion. This should speed up the rate at which the world grows weary of this silly little wive's tale."
There goes my irony meter.

Evolution isn't something that did or didn't happen, stupid. It's an ongoing process; it's happening right now, in every birth, and in every individual that doesn't get to have offspring.
Rational people are interested in anyone who has a different opinion and can back it up by credible evidence, or at least a logical reasoning.
