If they want to run "their" church this way, then they should split and call themselves something else. Maybe "The Happy Let Everyone Be How They Want People". If they want to be a Bible based church though, they should be following biblical teachings. The Bible is very clear on the gay/lesbian issue. No biblical church should be making gay people priests (yes, even the Catholic Church shouldn't have done this, but knowing some history about Pope John Paul II gives an insight into how it happened). Not unless they've acknowledged their sins and stopped "being gay".

Your run of the mill "Christianity" is split into thousands of different sects and factions, all based on different interpretations and translations of the same collection of Arabian myths.
Get out of your mother's basement, and get a life. They're free.
No one can 'stop being gay', anymore than you can stop being an idiot.
And an small bit of information, most pedophile priests are heterosexual. Are facts a pisser?
"(yes, even the Catholic Church shouldn't have done this, but knowing some history about Pope John Paul II gives an insight into how it happened). Not unless they've acknowledged their sins and stopped "being gay"."
I think it's assumed that they're going to "stop" being gay (or at least will never have gay sex) once they enter the priesthood, priests being celibate and all.
The bible is very clear on "judge lest ye be judged" and "Love thy neighbor" but nowhere is it clear about teh gay...
Sketchy, yes, clear, fuck no, get lost
Maybe "The Happy Let Everyone Be How They Want People".
So, by implication, your own little sect would best be referred to as the "Angry, force everyone to do what you say" people?
"...but knowing some history about Pope John Paul II gives an insight into how it happened..."
I am no admirer of the last Pope - or indeed, of Popes in general. But I cannot let pass the implied slur on someone who, when the history of our present age is sifted and analysed in the light of time to come, will be seen as an important factor in the collapse of Communism and the emergence of a new world.
So if you have something unpleasant to say about the man, then say it out, rather than make unpleasant hints and innuendos - the coward's way.
JP II was, to my way of thinking, a great and unpleasant man. In many ways he seems like a Shakespearian character, good and great, but with a built-in flaw... and therefore guilty of many errors and faults, including his criminal mismanagement of the crisis of priests who were (are?) molesting children. History will judge him for that too.
But no innuendo, please. I believe it is impossible to slander/libel the dead.
Says the conservative who attribute his actions and believes to a socialist saviour.
Anyway the Bible doesn't enter in to it. "The Happy Let Everyone Be How They Want People" would be right whether the bible supported them or not.
"Maybe "The Happy Let Everyone Be How They Want People""
That's so weird, before I read far enough into the paragraph I thought he was describing a Christian church. But oops, I forgot, tolerance, acceptance, and happiness are EVIL and his God wants us to work against them ever happening.
"If they want to be a Bible based church though, they should be following biblical teachings"
Fair enough, some people worship God, that is their right, they don't all worship the Bible like you.
"The Bible is very clear on the gay/lesbian issue."
Shut up. The bible doesn't even MENTION lesbians.
"knowing some history about Pope John Paul II gives an insight into how it happened"
You think most of the priests before PJPII were straight? What? Are you serious? Hahahahahahaha!
"Not unless they've acknowledged their sins and stopped "being gay". "
You hopeless moron, they won't stop "being gay" until they die, either of natural causes or because they are cruelly executed by you anti-love people. I'm not sure what happens after they die - some people claim to have contacted Oscar Wilde with a ouija board and he claims that his orientation survived the intergalactic barrier. But that's just hearsay.
"The First Baptist Old Stone Church of Tiverton will hold a New England Clambake on Saturday, July 26, at 4 p.m. at the church, 7 Old Stone Church Rd."
No biblical church should be holding clambakes (yes, even the Catholic Church shouldn't have done this, but knowing some history about how Pope John Paul II loved his linguine con vongole gives an insight into how it happened). Not unless they've acknowledged their sins (Lev. 11:10) and stopped eating shellfish!
Confused?
