[In response to Hurricane Katrina being called one of the worst natural disasters in American history]
The worst disaster in history? Dude. Read your Bible. A worldwide flood trumps Katrina.

1: There is no evidence to support the fact that a worldwide flood ever happened.
2: The flood, if it did happen, was long before America was formed, and thus not part of American history.
3: If the flood did happen, it's origins were supernatural, and thus cannot be counted as a natural disaster.
1) "one of". not very worst evar.
2) American history. not world history.
3) We're talking about disasters that have actually happened. I could very well say, "dude, read your Eddas. A giant war where everyone but two people and a tree are killed is way worse than a worldwide flood where most animal species (and all the fish/sea mammals)and about 12 people survive."
Nope sorry, God created the the great flood to punish humanity for being human, and he is righteous in all his judgments, therefore not a "disaster", and certainly not "natural".
Using their own bullshit against them is fun!
not only did the flood not happen, but that's hardly American history dumbass...
Go peddle your teflon somewhere else
Yeah, a worldwide flood would be much, much worse then a simple hurricane.
Of course, Katrina was real....
"The worst disaster in history? Dude. Read your Bible. A worldwide flood trumps Katrina."
I'm pretty sure they were talking about real disasters, not your made up Bible Babble bullshit.
Ugh. Considering how Seventh's comment doesn't even make sense in the context, this is simply yet another example of the fundie tendency to insert religious beliefs into every single conversation, as if they feel compelled to remind us of their idiocy and gullibility at every turn.
Guys, stick with me, if someone shows you a map of what they think the world looked like a million years ago and asked you if you can pick out America; Wouldn't you point and say "there"?
So he's right, in that line of thought
After all, Our History of the Natives is still summation, And it's accepted as history
that Genesis flood story is stupid though
Noah's flood was the worst disaster in American history?
And...
Katrina actually happened, we have the proof.
1) It said "American history", you dolt. America didn't even exist when this worldwide flood was supposed to have occurred.
2) There was no worldwide flood. Such a thing would be impossible.
*Shoots fundie*
Idiot needed to die.
AMERICAN HISTORY! Technically the so-called worldwide flood did hit America... but, since America only began once Christopher Columbus arrived on the scene, it doesn't count, right?
The poster misstated the context.
The quote is actually responding to the claim that Katrina was "the worst disaster in history".
Not just natural disasters, not just American history, not just 'one of' the worst disasters.
That original claim is more breathtakingly ignorant than the reply, which is merely standard fundie. And the misstatement by the FSTDT poster is a 'darndest thing' itself.
yeah, except one is an actual flood that hurt a lot of people, the other is a myth dreamt up by a bunch of iron age desert dwellers who believed all animals on Earth were within walking distance of some old geezer named Noah...
That and... how old do you think America is?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
