creationism is not religoius... lots of atheists believe in creationism/intelligent design

Well, I guess she must be talking about me.
I'm an atheist who believes there is no god (probably just because I'm mad at him for not letting me be homosexual,) but I also believe I am wrong in my non-belief (which makes my brain hurt, being the godless, god-fearing liberal that I must surely be) and I also believe that this God, who I do not believe exists, with my belief in his non-existence being believed by me to be wrong, created the universe and everything in it despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary (which my closed minded atheist brain accepts unquestionably because I've been brainwashed by the Church of Darwin, AKA the public school system.)
And if it wasn't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college.
"lots of atheists believe in creationism/intelligent design"
Only if you count those atheists (like me) who profess to believe it involved trees, midgets and noodle appendages.
(But is it just a beer volcano? Or can it emit cider and perry too?)
If you are talking about those alien worshiping crackpots (forgot the name of that cult) that call themselves atheists because they don't believe in a God (not the scientologists but that kooky bunch of folks that believe in reptilians) that sounds about right but for the atheists that aren't batshit crazy, it's a whole different ballgame.
Be more specific, please.
"Lots of..." is inappropriate for people. Use "Many..." instead.
The next step, which you omitted, would involve naming some of the "many" IDiot atheists.
creationism is not religoius - ??wut??
Is it possible that it is 'religious'??
Last night upon a planet fair,
I met a god who wasn't there.
He wasn't there today, alas.
I wish that he would kiss my ass.

From Wikipedia: "Raëlians believe that all life on Earth, humans included, was created scientifically by human-like extra terrestrials that are more scientifically advanced than us, called the Elohim, using DNA synthesis and genetic engineering and thus believe in intelligent design."
Technically they're Atheist, since they don't believe in God.
I don't see why it's impossible to reject evolution and be an atheist. I daresay such a position is uncommon in the US, though. What did atheistic Buddhists believe prior to the mid 19th century?
Arguing that ID, as a belief, is not religious might be possible. I'm disappointed I can't read the original post: I'd like to see a good example of that argument. ID *proponents* however, seem to be exclusively religiously motivated.
Yeah. The Raëlians. Except most atheists aren't Raëlians. I'd go so far as to wager that most atheists consider Raëlians to be stupid and/or delusional. I know I do.
Truth be told, I've come across other atheists before, but not a single atheist I've ever met has been a Raëlian. The only reason I know about Raëlians is because I've heard other people bring them up on the internet, wondered what the hack they were, and used Google to find out.
Raëlians are the exception to the rule. Nearly everybody who believes in creationism or "intelligent design" are religious. Those trying to get "intelligent design" or creationism into school certainly are.
See Edwards v. Aguillard and Kitzmiller v. Dover please.
Um, guys...
Some atheists do believe in intelligent design.
Take the Raels, for example.
In fact, if your type "Rael" into google, the first page that comes up is rael.org, and is summed up as such:
"Intelligent : Design - Message from the Designers"
Your definition of atheist must differ from the real world's, then. Because, you know, it's hard to believe in creation when you don't believe in a creator.
Moron.
Confused?
