I actually agree with part of this. TV is all about stations competing for advertising money. I really don't like TV for this reason.
Of course... you could always watch Public Access TV? Nova?
you could of course, read a book (other than that one!)...

I don't know, on my cable system there is a whole block of channels dedicated to nothing but televangelsts. I am offended by that but I also know that I don't have to watch those channels.

T.V is rampant with lewdness, vulgarities, and a sinful competitiveness to "one up" the other stations. It's all about viewers and cash, it's all greed. The mentality is: "the more offensive, the more taboo, the more people will talk about it long after it's over."

Listen chum, nobody is stopping you from living the life you want to. If you don't like what's on TV turn it off. If you don't like the cinema, don't go there. If you don't like what your neighbours are doing, don't spy on them in their bedrooms. It's a relatively free country so you have choices. Exercise them.
But what you are not allowed to do is to whine because everybody else is enjoying themselves and you are not. It's your belief system, don't force it on others to make them as miserable as you are.
Now get back to your whips and chains and cilices to do penance for your sins of interfering in other people's lives.
As to the planet coming to en end, your types have been willing and wishing for this since the first millennium. We are still waiting. Jesus, too, promised he would come, roughly within 50 years of his Ascension. We are still waiting... So perhaps it's not possible for him to come back. How long do you wait for a date to show up?
