Maybe it's because they've spent the last 5 years looking in a country that Osama wasn't in, had nothing to do with 9/11, and it has turned out to be such a disaster that Afganistan is a: forgotten about and b: becoming controlled by the Taliban again...

Although 4given does have a point that Osama might be caught right before the election. Coincidence? I think not.
(And if that did happen, and the American electorate were naive and gullible enough to believe in that coincidence, then they truly deserve what they get.)
The problem is the rest of the world - who the US elects effects us all, but we don't get a vote.
Not that Obama is a Muslim, but I want to carry on with this string of "logic".

It would be like the execution of Saddam Hussein; the politicising of a matter of international affairs. The timing would be too nice to not warrant some conspiracy theory of collusion and hiding Bin Laden until the right moment.
Either way that won't happen. The government is too inept for that, just it wouldn't been too inept to 'cause 9/11' as per the 9/11 Turth nutters.
Obama is NOT a Muslim but I could care less if he was so long as he didn't try and legislate his religious superstitions into law. That is all I care about. Besides, could a Muslim be worse then the fundamental christian lunatic we have in there now?
So long as it remains a private issue I don't care what the religious beliefs of the President are. I would prefer an atheist but while we might have a black President or a woman President I think we would have a gay President before we would have an openly atheistic President.

The worst job in world has to be being Bin Laden's #2 man in his organization, I think that we have wasted 15 of them. Have you ever asked yourself why we always kill them but never Bin Laden? Why don't you ask the Saudi Arabian asslick we have in the White House? Funny how EVERY PLANE that attacked us on 9/11 was flown by a SAUDI ARABIAN and we attack Iraq, and wipe out their OILFIELDS so the Saudis now have us over a barrel!PS We're even. I can't understand why anyone would would want a Republican President after the dismal failure of the last 8 years.
Well, you see, 4given, we knew the perpetrators of 9/11 were Saudis, but we're buddies with them. You know, the oil thing and all. And we knew Bin Laden was in Afghanistan. So based on sheer political brilliance and hard-edged logic, we invaded Iraq, which was not implicated in 9/11 in any way. And where Osama wasn't. That's why it's been hard to bag him.

Be a nice surprise if he was captured 7 years ago when he was supposed to be captured the first time.
Or if he wasn't given the CIA training your government provided him with. That would be a nicer surprise.

October surprise? It seems like you're insinuating that the government already has Osama and is waiting to tell the public to give McCain a boost. And it also sounds like you're supporting Bush & McCain. So the ends justify the means? How Christian of you.
I'm not sure anyone's rallying for a Muslim president -- well, not in the USA anyways. I'm not sure about other countries and any of their upcoming elections (assuming there are any). Catching Osama suddenly in October would certain sway a lot of fucktards into believing that the government is doing its job. Thinking people would notice the significant coincidence and become suspicious as to how the government finally manages to do something like that so close to an important election twice in a row. Finding Saddam certainly helped Bush get his first win (reelection) and while it would certainly vindicate McCain it would also throw a lot of suspicion onto the military as to why it only seems to do its job if immense political power is at stake. It would certainly seem as though their motives for accomplishing these tasks are completely separate from the directly related and implied results.
Let me explain why it took seven years.
Because Iraq, before we destabilized it, was about the least likely country you'd have found bin Laden in. It'd be not dissimilar to looking for Hitler in Israel.
1) It's hard to find the guy because he's either dead or in hiding in some random country, having fled Afghanistan.
2) Obama isn't a Muslim, and even if he were he wouldn't do any more damage than a Christian leader would.
Let me see. If it took 7 years, it means that Bush was not a particularly efficient president. So, voting for his sucessor is not sound. And bearing in mind that Obama is not muslim............well, you got the picture.
