Quote# 4748

My best friend is a Unitarian Universalist agnostic, and I'm finding it harder and harder to maintain a relationship with him... he believes that homosexuality is okay and I'm just sick of him imposing his views on me.

The words pot, kettle, and black come to mind.

Same ol' fundie argument tactics: if someone's views are different from yours, claim persecution and run away with your fingers in your ears.

Someone doesn't share your hate filled views? OH NOSE!

If it's making you sick then just let the friendship go.

Why would you allow yourself to be persecuted?

If you don't like your friend, can I have him? He seems like a nice person...

"Waaaaahhh!!! Why won't you tolerate my intolerance?!"

Dude. It doesn't work that way.

I like UU's. They actually accept most religions, even atheism, and treat all people like people.

God forbid we have religions where people actually think and express compassion.

You could almost read this as if Cowboy and his mate were in a gay relationship...

Cowboy: Look at those disgusting homosexuals kissing.
Cowboy's friend: I don't think it's disgusting.
Cowboy: Stop imposing your beliefs on me!

Me:I believe that being homosexaul is okay.

And I'm sure the feeling is mutual, you damn hypocrite.

No ...."imposing" is what happens when people knock on your door to hand out little bible tracts. But if you're just conversing with a friend, it's not oppression. It's just a difference of opinion. It won't turn you gay.
