Not so, because gravity pulls objects into the least stressful shape. In this case, a sphere. Centrifugal force caused by the earth's rotation distorts it into the spheroid we observe today. Science, bitches.

I think these scientists are scientists the same way that Kent Hovind was.

Hundreds of years after the discovery of gravity, too . . . some people are really slow on the uptake. Usually not this slow, though.
