Quote# 48051

There are no attributes in God. That is anthropomorphism.
God is united to himself in a union of unity. God is indivisiable - there are no parts (attributes).

You said:
"As long as there is a single attribute God is plenty falsifiable". There is not a single attribute; so I guess by your own admission you are now a believer.

>>God is united to himself in a union of unity.<<
... What?

There are no attributes of god? Did this fundie just prove that god doesn't exist?

2/3/2009 4:35:26 AM

I see the words, I just can't make any coherent meaning out of them.

God is indivisiable - there are no parts

So all that stuff about the father, son, and holy spirit is...?

2/3/2009 5:06:28 AM

The beauty of it all- there are no parts or attributes of God, because none exist.

This is the muslim version of God, actually. It's interesting as a theological concept. God is indivisable, so you can't separate God from God's creation or God's actions. It's a monotheistic version of pantheism.

Of course 1) This is all just apologetic somersaults of nonsense and 2) this is not the version of Islam we tend to get exposed to.

So, by your own admission, "There are no attributes in God".

God = nothing

word salad = coming right up

"united to himself in a union of unity" -- that is hilarious. It's like a Buffy quote.

Fawful has seen God has a vagina on top of his penis.

Why did he say "anthropomorphism"? I bet $10000000000000000 that he doesn't know what it means. Anthropomorphism means "like a human". For example, StarFox characters are anthropomorphs, that means they are half-animal-half-human.

"God is united to himself in a union of unity". WTF does that even MEAN?

And finally: "There is not a single attribute". I beg to differ. He is sadic (killing every Egyptian firstborn is not cute, wether they deserve it or not), and a mysogen (saying a woman shall stay by her man's side and obey everything he says [even if it's "don't go away" or "shoot this motherfucker in the balls" {murdering couples like Charle's Manson's gang}] is not giving freedom), among many other traits he has.

If there is not a single attribute to God, It cannot logically exist. So I guess by your own admission you are now an atheist.

Yo God, I heard you like Unity, so I united you to yourself so you can be in a union while you're in a union.

And by the way. 'I am' can be attributed to God.

Lady Evil

Um....EVERYTHING has attributes! I keep a Rainbow Dash figurine on my computer. It is made of light blue plastic. It has four legs and two wings. It is inert. It has a tail made of blue and purple nylon and a mane made of red, orange, yellow and green nylon. Those are attributes.

I am looking at a hairbrush. It is made of dark blue plastic. It has a tapered handle with a hole in the end. The word "Conair" is printed on the handle. It has round tipped bristles. These are attributes.

I am looking at a Mexican 5 peso coin. it is round. It is metal. The outer edge is silver, the center is gold. One side has a picture of an eagle sitting on a cactus eating a snake under the words "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" and a half wreath of leaves at the bottom. The other side has the numbers 2006 $5 embossed. The edge has a pattern that appears to be inspired by the tribal designs of Native Mexicans. Those are attributes.

Attributes that are not immediately seen, yet true of these objects: The figurine has hair that's fun to comb and style and reminds people that there is a cartoon about the adventures of Rainbow Dash and her friends. The brush makes my hair bright and shiny while removing tangles. The 5 peso piece might buy me an egg if I take it to Mexico.

Hell, even fictional characters have attributes! Harry Potter has a scar on his forehead and can do magic. Frankenstein is made of sewn together body parts and wants a female. Superman has black hair and can fly. This person needs to learn what "attributes" means.

Then you're the go to guy today to answer the question that all Christians avoid.

What is the Holy Ghost?

Dr. Shrinker

Was going to "meh" until I read that smug last line. Now I'm on the fence.

"God is united to himself in a union of unity."
I thought that uniting with oneself was a sin.

Attributes are what indicate something exists. If your god has no single attribute, then he doesn't exist at all. I guess by your own admission you are now an atheist.

You do realized that you just caused a paradox in your head, right? How can something have no attributes if it is unified and indivisible?\

Then again, the empty space in a fundie's skull is where paradoxes can live in peace.
