Quote# 4806

Why punish babies because women choose to have sex stupidly and immorally?.. Your love of being consistently selfish is what animates your hatred of the once upon a time universal law against abortion. Babies must be chopped into pieces and sucked out of wombs so that those wombs can continue to behave irresponsibly. What an inspiring cause you champion.

Because said women are impregnated by other immoral women, right?

I am not, in fact, a walking womb.

And, there is a very long history of Western society accepting both abortion and maternal infanticide. It was not unusual for women to kill their new borns if the new mouth to feed meant that the family as a whole might face starvation. As long as it happened fairly close to birth, society didn't get involved at all.

No-one is punishing babies.

And once again pregnant =/= irresponisble slut.
- She may have been raped.
- She may have used protection and it broke.
- She may have had sex with her partner/husband.
- and having an abortion IS taking responsiblility.

Darwin's Lil' Girl

Gahh...I need to just create one final copy of this arguement and then just copy and paste it or something...

i) If a woman gets pregnant before the age of fifteen, she can suffer serious health effects. She can even die in childbirth, if not before during the pregnancy. Why kill the woman and the baby when you only have to kill one? It would be better for the mother to abort the pregnancy, so that she can go on to have more children later.

ii)Sometimes, a child is born with a serious genetic illness. We all know that. Sometimes, these genetic abnormalities either kill the baby or make life painful/difficult/not worth living. With the technology we have nowadays, we can spot these syndroms earlier, and end a child's suffering before they have to live through it.

I do not condone abortion if you are sixteen and slept around because you were high on meth. There are plenty of other women out there who can't have children and who want to. But sometimes it's kinder, if not down right nesessary, to simply kill the baby.

You call an 8 week old bundle of cells a baby?

I'm going to assume, from the name, that this arrogant and pig-ignorant little twat is male. As such, it has no say whatsoever in what women do with their own bodies. And as far as responsible behaviour goes, Albert, kindly provide proof of your vasectomy.

"There are plenty of other women out there who can't have children and who want to."

I assume that this is talking about adoption. Unfortunately, adoption isn't always that cut-and-dry. A lot of people are looking for certain types of babies (read: white and male), and a lot of kids end up falling through the cracks and getting swept up in the foster care system, which I can tell you isn't fun.

I'm also guessing the number of parents who want to adopt is a lot more finite than the number of women seeking abortions per year. Of course, I don't know for sure.

"...so that those wombs can continue to behave irresponsibly."

Ceiling H. Cat... "those wombs"? He obviously doesn't even think women are are human, just walking incubators for Teh Holy Spermatozoa. Just for that, Albert, you do not deserve to comment on this issue... not that you had much right to in the first place, being a man and all. It's easy to be Mr. Morality when said issues will never happen to you personally.

What universal law?
There is even abortion in the bible.

Numbers 5 describes the "ordeal of bitter water".
.
It was intended to kill the woman and the baby that might have been conceived.

Good luck explaining the married women who abort, those who have been raped and those whose life is in danger.

8/9/2009 2:59:25 PM

Following your logic, why not castrating men too?. It would be even more efficient.

Seriously. I don't think those women are having sex "stupidly and immorally" on their own. (And if they were, a baby wouldn't be the likely outcome.) Oh right, I keep forgetting. Men can't control themselves and it's all our fault for corrupting them.

Strangely enough, babies aren't being punished.

It's almost like your argument is based on deliberately not knowing the actual meaning of words!

Also, women aren't merely walking life-support systems for their reproductive tracts, thanks much.

Why punish babies because men choose to have sex stupidly and immorally? It takes two to tango, ya know.
Our love of having the same rights as men, is what created laws of free abortions.

Most aborted fetuses have the size and shape of a kidney bean; there's no need to chop them into pieces; a mere abortion pill will usually dislodge them and flush them out like a normal menstrual period or an early miscarriage.

The womb is behaving just as irresponsible as the testicles are.

Quite a few who have abortions are married women who already have as many children as they want.

Yes, equal human rights for women and men is indeed an inspiring cause.
