Quote# 48063

Since the concept of shame has been removed from American society and American churches no point to shovel sand against the tide. 70 years ago a family would hide a unmarried teenaged daughter. Now half of Americans think it is wonderful that the daughter is put on international television so that a billion people can know her immorality.

70 years ago, we didn't have effective birth control. At the root, morality had little to do with it.

Does this mean you'll be voting for Obama?

So the bit where they forced him into a shotgun marriage passed you by, then?

Pregnancy is a prt of life, and nothing to be ashamed of.

Not having the commonsense to use protection, however...

That's conservative sex-ed for you.

I'm almost certain that he meant to say "unmarried, pregnant teenage daughter," but actually said "unmarried teenaged daughter," which I find hilarious. If you don't get married by the time you're thirteen, you have to be hidden from the world! XD

I wonder what he would say about Palin.

70 years ago, black people were not allowed to vote and you could wear a white sheet and triapse around town attacking minorities.

Sure, we are the ones who live in an immoral world.

I'm willing to bet Bill would not be saying this if Bristol Palin was Joe Biden's daughter. Instead of defending the conservative parent and abstinence-only education, he'd be attacking the liberal parent and sex ed.

I'll bet the farm this person claims to be pro-life, too.

I'm inclined to think that the "unmarried" was a slip from "immoral".

BW, you are part of the society who crave scandal. Lest you forget....

Yeah things were MUCH better back then. My grandma was the result of a teen pregnancy and suffered unimaginable torment and torture because of it. (Small fundy town). It is MUCH MUCH better to erect as many walls as possible for the teenage mother to go through and MUCH MUCH MUCH better to make the child suffer as a result of his/her being born. I think anyone who thinks teen moms should be hidden should go fuck themselves with a cactus.

@John: Well, we did; condoms go back several hundred years. But we didn't have effective sex education, and all the "moralists" kept effective contraception concealed from public view. Worse than none.

Methinks you would like to indulge in a little burning at the stake every now and then....

Would you start with a big name like the Palin girl?
