And what if the Muslims are right? Then you're screwed, I'm screwed, but there are other people who aren't screwed.
See, Pascal's Wager = FAIL.

What were you smoking when you wrote this? Sand? Clay =/= sand.
evolution =/= "a monkey gave birth to a human/suddenly turned into a human"

Assuming for one second that there is a god, when he asks you "why did you believe in me?", your answer will be "just in case"?
Wimp.

Riotos, you believe that God can create a man from dirt but cannot set it up so he evolved?

Two for one special:
Strawman: Man did not evolve from monkeys. People and monkeys evolved from a common ancestor.
False Dichotomy: What if both Christianity and atheism got it wrong?

I don't think I'd want to worship a god that would send me to hell for believing in monkeys...or any reason.

In other words Riotos says it's better to believe a comfortable lie then a possibly uncomfortable truth.
Historicly this has never actually worked out as well as the advocates advertised.

This is fundie-lite. This is the first time believers in evolution have been condemned to purgatory and not outright to hell.

Why would God care whether you believed in evolution, as opposed to whether you lived a decent life? Why do fundies continue to believe Luther's crap about doing anything you want as long as you believe the Bible and kiss Jesus' ass?

Now let's say that God is actually the Muslim God.
We're both fucked.
And the Jewish god would probably hate us for not believing / thinking Jesus was the Messiah.
Oh, and Hades... Is just never fun.
Like, who else..
The FSM is known to punish fundies.
the IPU, certainly.

"Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a god; because, if there be one, he must approve the homage of reason rather than of blind-folded fear. Do not be frightened from this inquiry by any fear of its consequences.... If it end in a belief that there is no god, you will find incitements to virtue in the comfort and pleasantness you feel in its exercise and in the love of others it will procure for you."

Obviously you don´t know that there are enough faiths out there that have an afterlife but don´t have a problem with the theory of evolution.
There are even christian denominations that accept the ToE.
So there is no reason why people should have to decide to either believe that the ToE is true or to believe in god/be christians ;)
One can even say that you fundies (which is a minority among christians) are the only christians that have a problem with the ToE, thanks to your belief in the literal truth of the bible (despite its contradictions)

So many people "believe" in Christianity just because they think that God will be fooled by their cynical ritualistic imitation of actual faith, I'm tempted to believe that there must be a First Church of Pascal somewhere -- probably in Las Vegas.
