Quote# 48200

I love the comments from those who preach separation of religion from government, yet support regimes who literally worship questionable environmental theories. The truth is that the US was founded by Christians and has enjoyed success because of adherence to Judaeo-Christian values. Yes, we are the good guys and have prospered because of it.

Now regarding the witch thing...who the hell knows.

"We are the good guys" in one of the cornerstones of the fundamentalist mindset.

"Never mind that this country has uprooted cultures, started unjust wars and trampled on human rights. We believe in God so we're always right!"

The truth is inconvenient for fundies. That must be why they're always ignoring it.

The environmental theories aren't questionable and people don't worship them. You lose.

- Which governments would those be?

Good guys ? If you think that you're the ones in the white hats, think again Cosmo 'cos the world don't work like that!

I'd also dispute the 'success' line as well. In most socio-economic measures America does not come in the top five. It is only in military power that the US stands above the rest and that really isn't that good a thing.

You do realize some countries are twice as old as yours and have been stable most that time?
You do realize democracy existed in many of them before America was discovered?

You do realize you had a very unproductive civil war due to very dictatorship politics?

You do realize Europe lent you money and resources to get you out of the Great Depression?

You do realize half your short history was one of lawless states, genocidal practices and basically the Lord, Baron/Serf system?

No of course you don't or you refuse to acknowledge your real history in favor of a fairy tale, of that America that never existed. Christianity rode on the backs of America as it grew, that's why you see the biggest, oldest churchs in the areas that first became affluent.

"Now regarding the witch thing...who the hell knows."

You should, it was cults with those Judaeo-Christian values who claimed they had to kill people because they were witchs, they were literally kicked out of Europe for such shit and only stopped by secular law in the U.S..

Inconvenient Truth indeed, for you, history to the realist.
