What about all those miscarriages? I'm pretty sure there've been more than 48 million of them, and were they the mother's choice?

anti-legalized abortion = more coathanger abortions (which many women have died from while performing on self).
This is where "pro-life" fails,badly.

"Natural abortions" happen more often than the ones you condemn doctor's doing. Perhaps you should be attacking your own little God for murdering more babies than anyone or anything in the history of humankind.
Unless, of course, potential human life isn't human life in which case your asshole God is off the hook and you lost your pathetically fragile position.

So? We have too many babies as it is. Maybe if you morons would quit breeding all the goddamn time, or at least use condoms, we wouldn't have so many abortions!

If secular humanism is a religion, what imaginary deity or deities do its adherents worship?

God kills twice as much through miscarriages.
And I'm amazed at the sheer impotence of fundies to comprehend that a philosophy could be well other than religious.

Perhaps if you taught your daughters about contraception they wouldn't be making babies which they couldn't take care of in the first place.

"We have 48 million dead human babies slaughtered on its altar of "choice"."
Far better to sacrifice them on the altar of starvation. You already have the worst child poverty rates in America of any developed nation, and you want to add to the problem?

Not all pro-choicers are secular humanists, and, believe it or not, not all secular humanists are pro-choice, after all, if your ethical system is based on the idea that human intelligence is special and worth preserving, you have to weigh the ethics of ending a potential human life most carefully, some atheists/humanists come down against abortion for this reason.

I assume Docc is also in favor of a massive tax hike to pay for all of the extra welfare mothers and orphans that outlawing abortion would create.

You fail to understand Pro Choice.
For instance, I myself am "pro life".
Aka if I get someone pregnant, I would want to keep the child. (Not like these douchebags who think that their moral way is the only way)
However it is not my decision. The rules for me being "pro life" is my choice in the matter. The mother's is needed too.
I can ask her to not abort and indeed offer to raise the child myself. But it is ultimately her decision whether or not she wants to keep it. My morality (atheistic and scientific) comes from the concept that actions have repercussions and sometimes children happen. And I quite like children. I intend to have some someday.
You can be both pro life and pro choice at the same time. Who says what morality works for me will work for you?

Well, for starters, it's not a religion.
And alsomore, abortion is not a required part of that ideology, though supporting the option of it is probably common among secular humanists.

@FMG: Yeah people fucking act like pro-choice means they HAVE to have abortions. Seriously, it's just a damn option, if you don't want it, don't ask for it. If you get it anyway, sue for malpractice!

'COURSE not! The harlot got herself into the situation, she should figure it out on her own. Why should he crack open his coffers to look after someone that couldn't even keep her legs together. She should have just told that rapist "NO means NO!"
:p, just in case someone needs a Poe's Law flag.
[EDIT]@anonymous
Yeah, that's the thing...people will wave oops children like some sort of battle flag. "I CHOSE to have the child, even though it was an accident/rape baby/horrendously disabled. Take THAT aborters!" Guess what? You exercised the choice we are fighting to keep. No one forced you to carry the child. No one attacked you with a coat hanger, either. You were able to conceive and carry on your own terms.

Oh, give it up. None of you care about the kyoot widdle baybeez, your only concern is that people exactly like you get into power and give you the society (read: theocracy) that you think you deserve. A pseudo-1950s world where nigras and wimmenz know their place and white christian males own their gawdly famuhlees.
Oh yeah, and a world population nudging 7 billion "little miracles" is quite enough, kthnxbai.
