(Explaining why Obama has a bigger turnout at McCain at his events.)
I have thought the same myself. One thing to keep in mind is his target demographic.....18-25 year olds who probably are NOT working. They are in liberal colleges or living in mom's basement. He is more of a rockstar than a politician. Then again, he also preys on welfare mentality, so if you are on welfare and not working (and yes I am speaking only to those who willfully abuse the system) you have nothing better to do than go see him.

Yeah, 'cause it's inconceivable that anyone could ... oh, I don't know ... disagree with you or anything. Also, have you been to college? I seem to recall having been busy studying.
Ahem.
22 year old guy who works part time at a local retailer. Most of the other people I know work because they have tuition to pay and they want beer money.
Sure there are those who get everything handed to them from Mommy and Daddy, but even still you're overgeneralising...
That's amazing, you got my demographic exactly
oh wiat, I am 20, have a stable governemnt job, never have been on welfare, I am in a collage that is owned by the state, so it is nonpartisien, and I have gone to his events.
LOL, I ve spent the last 3 years working on and off because of the republicans..I cant afford to get a normal job so I wind up working 12 hours a day 7 days a week for six monts and then getting laid of for a month or 2...its driving me nuts becuase they shipped all of the work out to ssea so they can have child laborers and no benefits and shit and still charge us the same price for the stuff.
39, white, public school grad, self-supporting for years, live in the South. All for Obama.
Fuck you.
Good point. Not.
Mom has gone nuts.
Welfare is not a lot of money. Its just enough to feed you for a week and keep gas in your car so you can look for more jobs.
For every one welfare leech there are like 5 people doing everything they can to get off of it.
Of course, the big crowds for Palin are full of fine, upstanding working Americans, right? She's not a "rock star", is she?
Yeah lots of 18 to 55 year olds are now currently unemployed thanks to the policies of our current FUNDIE President, they probably have a great inducement not to vote for a person who plans to continue those failed policies.PS I know more neo-cons living in their mothers basement and living off the parents money than liberals, and I have NEVER EVER SEEN anyone turn down welfare because they were Republican(and I work for state government).
So, academics carrying out intensive study and research aren't really "working"? I can say right now, without shadow of doubt, that you have never attended any institute of higher education and you have no clue what real learning is.
Or you're an arts student. (Kidding!)
I can think of many, many, many better things to do than get involved in the infantile dogmatic nonsense that is American politics.
DEMOCRAT: "My opponent's a greedy capitalist racist sexist arsehole!"
REPUBLICAN: "My opponent's a limp-wristed nancy boy socialist!"
Which is what it all boils down to, seriously.
By itself, in no other context, this is not so much religious fundamentalism as standard political right wing talk, US style. But, though not every republican is a fundie, every fundie is a republican (unless the republican party isn't far enough to the right for them haha), so there is a DEFINITE political slant to the whole fundy world. Those spoiled, conceited, underachieving loons, who don't much appreciate antibiotics and anaesthetic, really can't Tell The Difference between faith in God, and a political ideology that exalts your own nation above all other nations, and the beliefs of your particular group of people above all others in God's Chosen nation.
Blah! How's that for a run on sentence? Thorry about that, everyone. Thorry.
I work full time, live on my own and pay my own way. I'm also older than 25.
Your claim, it has been refuted.
"so if you are on welfare"
What, like all of those corporate whores in the banking system?
All of the CEOs in failed firms lining up for 7 figure bonuses?
Private profit and public debt?
Until those fuckers do jail time don't ever use the word welfare in any arguament you choose to join.
30 myself, 11 to 12 hour shifts, six days a week at a pickle plant...I'm over 8k in debt, go fig. I'm voting Obama...i think you missed your target range moron.
18-25 year olds who probably are NOT working .
Careful with that brush, or you'll knock off a galaxy or two...

You clearly have a brilliant political mind, encolpius.
People who are over 65 are more likely not working, don't hold university diploma and their contribution to society is also laughable but, when they vote GOP, things apparently change.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
