Quote# 4840

You don't have to believe He exists to hate Him. You hate Him by default, just by rejecting His existence.

Apathy and hate are not the same thing.

You CAN'T hate what you don't believe exists! How can these people not grasp such a basic point? I can no more hate the God of the Bible than I can hate the tooth fairy, an invisible pink unicorn, or an ethical politician.

I hate Nero Wolfe, Sherlock Holmes, Santa Claus, Mario & Luigi, Superman, and Don Quixote? Not just those few, but the list is actually infinite! God, am I a hateful person!

I don't believe in Zeus. Does it mean that I hate him?. Or Charming Prince?. Man, in that case, I wish he existed. I need a hot man in my life.

It's not God we hate. It is those idiots who insist that God is watching us and will smite us for violating their subjective religious code.

You don't have to believe Batman exists to hate him. You hate him by default, just by rejecting his existence.

Fixed.

should I laugh or cry at this?

I'm conflicted. I love/hate Batman by the same flight of moonbat logic? Sigh. Guess I'm condemned to despising pink fluffy unicorns dancing on rainbows, too.

I cannot by definition hate what I do not believe exists, but I can hate some (maybe all) of the things that are done in his name. The fact that he doesn't exist makes such things countless times worse.

Riiiiight. You don't get the idea, that people don't/can't hate something they know/believe not to exist. I get your religious point of this, but still: you're the ones running around with this imaginary friend of yours, not us non-believers, 'cause, well, we don't believe in such crap. Keep it to yourself, please.

Aww but I don't hate Gordon Freeman even though he doesn't exist. He is a PHYSICS CRUNCHING BAD ASS!

You hate Him by default, just by rejecting His existence.

Very strange ... until now I wasn't aware at all that I hate Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter and Captain James T. Kirk.

For all this hate inside me towards these fictional characters (which I wasn't aware until now), it's really strange how much I love to read the Sherlock Holmes short stories and the Harry Potter novels and how much I love to watch the good old Star Trek series.

Hmm, a little stupid, not royally though.

By default, we don't believe, that's the logic path.
To hate something we don't believe in is futile at best, madness in it's worst.

But lets put this another way.
You hate the secular systems of democracy and free people because they don't enforce your GodPlan.
These systems of free people, free enterprise and laws that protect the weak and poor more than your Biblical ones are a proven reason the west has prospered. All theocracies are dictatorships. America's ills can be directly linked to a theocracy that weds itselfs to guns, power and wealth worship

You probably don't believe Gandalf is a real person, right? I guess that means you hate Gandalf, since you reject his existence.

Do you hate the Tooth Fairy? Do I even want an answer to this question?
