In the bible, the only things that live breathe through nostrils. Dogs, kitties, pigs, apes, chinchillas, birds, more birds, and other birds.
Insects are not ‘alive.’ Nor are plants. That’s why there were plants around for animals to eat after the Flood. And why Noah didn’t take any insects or fish on the Ark.

But, seriously, the main objection to evolutionary theory does seem to be based on those who take their religious scripture literally. But there are Christains and Muslims who accept the evidence and don’t find it at odds with their holy books.
