No, the Bible doesn't especially "speak out" against gays. The way fundies talk, you'd think it was some kind of Eleventh Commandment. The Bible just says it's an abomination to the Lord, like eating shellfish or shortchanging the collection plate. Paul mentions homosexuality along with a whole bunch of other stuff that he says is equally bad, like gossiping and boasting.

In jumping to the conclusion that they are not, you are making a definite judgement.
