It all comes down to accountability. Someone doesn't like the idea that they were created by an intelligent being, who expects us to live a certain way, and so they strip the intelligence away from the being until we're left with just a ball of what could best be described as electrically charged plasma. Plasma doesn't care how we live our lives, does it?
