Actually, no one knows when Jesus was born, but the Vatican decided centuries ago to CELEBRATE it on Dec 25th, as a method to rope in the pagans, as their Yule holiday was already a tradition.
You really need to study your history before making stupid statements like this.
Sol Invictus. Chosen by the Emperor Aurelian.
"The Romans held a festival on December 25 called Dies Natalis Solis Invicti, "the birthday of the undefeated sun." The use of the title Sol Invictus allowed several solar deities to be worshipped collectively, including Elah-Gabal, a Syrian sun god; Sol, the god of Emperor Aurelian (AD 270274); and Mithras, a soldiers' god of Persian origin.[13] Emperor Elagabalus (218222) introduced the festival, and it reached the height of its popularity under Aurelian, who promoted it as an empire-wide holiday.[14]"

The Yule festival and the solstice also correspond to the end of december, it was a very popular time for festivals. Just like Christians stole the spring equinox from pagans for easter they also stole the birthday of Sol Invictus from the Romans.
The word Christmas doesn't appear until sometime after 1000CE.
This Christian is an un-educated prick who can't use their mouse properly.
Well, that depends on whom you ask... according to protestants, he was born in december.
If you ask a catholic, which protestantism came from, he will say the same thing.
If you as an orthodox, which catholicism came from he will also say december.
But if you as a christian before that, before it was merged with other religions, he would say something else.
I'd like to see you guys finally giving back my holiday, instead of putting more Christ into it ... It's never been about Christ in the first place - oh, and in case you still don't know - a CHRISTMAS TREE (no matter what you call it) is a PAGAN / HEATHEN symbol

Jesus, if you believe the story, was born in the spring--during lambing season when shepherds would "watch their flock by night". I've also heard it may have been around February as supposedly this is lambing season around Jerusalem.
Either way, it wasn't fucking December 25th. Your church stole that one from the Pagans, much like they've stolen most of their religion from other people prior to stamping them out through forced conversions on pain of death.
Moving Christmas to the Winter Solstice, Mid-Winter's Day, has to be one of the best PR "moves" ever. It made Christianity more acceptable to the Celts, who had Mid-Winter's Day as one of their biggest feasts. The shortest day and longest night was the day each year when the Sun would start coming back, a re-birth. It wasn't too much of a switch to celebrate the birth of Christ.
Lather, rinse, REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT!
Typical bullshit from a thoroughly washed brain.
The Bible implies that the season when Jesus was
born was not winter but probably early spring.
'Waiting for God' is correct. When I was in grade school
I found, in a public library, several sources showing that
the word christmas did not exist until the middle of the
11th century CE.
And also, yes, the Romans did have a December 25th celebration before the time of Jesus.
There's plenty of books in the library that fundies would burn if they knew how to find them.
Hmm... Looks like the audio preview function failed in its function of weeding out idiots.
Then again, I guess it won't work when the idiots themselves don't know they're morons.
For us decended from northern Europe, Fuck you and your meddeling religion. You stole our winter solstice holiday, traditions and all, you forced your son of God into it and currupted it's meaning forever.
At least Halloween's escaped your touch, despite repeated ongoing attempts (It really erks them that they can't adapt that one or rewrite it)
Assuming that Jesus was a real person, there is no evidence that he was born in December. The 25 December festival was, like most aspects of your religion, stolen from previous civilizations and belief systems.
On a related note, I recently heard a fundy preacher on the radio claiming to provide "facts" that Jesus was really born in the autumn. He provided as much "evidence" as you do (which is to say, none whatsoever), but at least he was respectful about it and didn\'t accuse his detractors of incest.
"you celebrate christmas in december cause thats when jesus was born, it has nothing to do with the season"
Ignorance. It should be illegal.
"go fuck your sister you inbred hick"
The irony. IT BURNS!
Not if you look at records of star charts, then Jesus would have been born sometime in spring.
We celebrate Winter Solstice in December, because that's when the Winter Solstice happens. When Nothern Europe was about to be Christianized, they high-jacked the existing celebrations and squezed Christ into them.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
