I thought God abandoned us when we quit outlawing homosexuality. And when we legalized abortion. Or maybe it was when we watched "The Last Temptation of Christ." Or was that "Monty Python's Life of Brian?" Or when we elected Bill Clinton president? No, it was when we banned mandatory prayer in schools, implemented the first gun control law, let women vote and own property, and declared that black people weren't property.

Read the Treaty of Tripoli. Once again, I will restate: It was written by a preacher and unanimously ratifie by the Congress. It explicitly states that America is not a Christian nation. And many of the forefathers weren't Christian, they were Deist, anyway. "One nation under god" was added in the fifties by a nation overtly paranoid of the red influence, much like America is ludicrously paranoid of Obama and his "political indoctrination of our children" crap. And also that he's the AntiChrist. Whatever. Anyway, the phrase was added out of fear. Is was not in the original pledge or alliegence or on the original money and all the other places it shows up. It is not part of our heritage. End of story. America is not freaking god's favorite child just because it's probably got the title of the world's most ignorant, bigoted first-world country.
