Christians, what does science mean to you?
Elora Amor : Science doesn't mean anything to me.
jezuszuigt : Science is the work of Satan. The bible is the only truth. Scientists shall burn in hell.
KiraJenLove : I don't deny REAL science - chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, etc.
I DO deny "false science", like evolution, alchemy, etc. Evolution cannot be proven in the lab. It is nothing but a metaphysical research program, like colleges that study the paranormal. It is a secular religion that's being passed off as "fact". It is a one-time event that supposedly happened "millions of years ago", yet no one was there to witness it,and it's not happening now. It is completely based on biases, assumptions, "just-so" stories and guesses, and very little hard facts.
pan :
Science is just one of the many ploys Satan uses to lure the public away from the Gospel of Jesus Christ,

Real science: Biology, chemistry.
False science: Evolution, alchemy.
Who knew it was possible to fail this hard.
Evolution is the cornerstone of biology. Also, I can't remember the last time people lobbied for alchemy to be taught in public schools, although that might be a good way to mock the people trying to get evolution out of the schools. Maybe we could pair it up with Intelligent Falling for maximum sarcasm.
I can't fathom how a black hole of irony doesn't form near you people and suck you in after you say you detest science while posting on the fucking internet , from a fucking computer , inside your electrically lit house .
Ok, completely random I know...but does anyone else get the sense that KiraJenLove is likely hot as hell? I mean I know she's batshit insane, but that also tends to increase the likelihood of hotness. Any thoughts? Anyone?
[Science doesn't mean anything to me.]
She said while typing merrily on her computer, wich is a product of science.
[yet no one was there to witness it,and it's not happening now.]
Maybe you should turn on the animal planet.
Evolution is happening now.
[It is completely based on biases, assumptions, "just-so" stories and guesses, and very little hard facts. ]
No, that would be the bible.
KJL here accepts *biology* as real science, yet denounces *evolution*, which is intimately twined with, and near inseparable from, biology, as each relies upon the other for support.
Several things:
@ Joe-Bob: Yes, I bet she is. Real shame, that.
@ Mortok: ROFLMAO
@ KiraJenLove: Wow, you can quote Karl Popper. He actually retracted that phrase ("metaphysical research programme," with the British spelling intact) when he heard it was being used by Christian fundamentalists as a wimpy appeal to authority in rejecting evolution. That wasn't quite what he meant.
Also, I'm gonna start identifying myself on here. I've been posting anonymously for a while but I think it'd be best to use a name.
It means nothing to me, it's the work of Satan....................ok, keep on typing in the computer which is either fake science or the work of Satan or means supposedly nothing to you, to see who looks the most stupid.
@ Au contraire
Could we please stop with the multiple responses from different people?
Yeah, what's up with that? How about just One response, from just ONE goddamned person, huh?
It takes too damn long to read through all these.
> and very little hard facts. <
So you admit we do have some , as opposed to what there is in the babble.

Science is evil. Electricity can't be proven in the lab. Computers are of the devil and you'll never catch me using one of the ...
oh. Nevermind.
The question should have been, "How do you define science?"
Now THAT would have produced some funny responses form this crowd.
Elora Amor, jezuszuigt and pan, get the hell off the Internet! It's a work of science, ergo the Devil.
KiraJenLove, evolution is a part of biology, which you said is a REAL science. Evolution is a very BIG part of Biology, ya know. It's certainly not a one-time event, it happens all the time, in all species, and it has been proven again and again in laboratories. Two examples that have happened in the last hundred years; the pepper moth and the nylon-eating bacteria. The one-time event you are talking about might be the abiogenesis, which is a young science, with fairly little hard facts. Alchemy isn't science, any more than astrology is.
Confused?
