[Why are so many "Christians" so mean to gay people?]
It is the radcal gays who are actually more hateful. They can become violent and militant if they don't get their special rights.

Yeah always running around in those pink tanks, terrorizing society and destroying order.
No, wait... Gays are the ones with the parades. Who never hurt anybody.
Nevermind.
You know, now that I think about it, I've NEVER seen a homosexual "become violent and militant". Never. And I actually know quite a few. They're some of the nicest and happiest people I know.
Christians, on the other hand... well, I don't think I know ANY who aren't prone to violence, intolerance, and willful ignorance. That pretty much defines them, actually.
JosephC,
Are you referring to the right to be able to visit our loved ones when they are in the hospital? The right to fair housing? The right to a safe and fair work environment? The right not to be beaten to within an inch of our lives and then be tied to a fence in Wyoming and left for dead?
Yeah, that's just soooo radical, asshole.
Well I am happy to report that "they got their specials rights" here in Connecticut. Just got home and put the news on and the Supreme Court here in CT just ruled in favor of gay marriage.
Just in time, too, as the gay violence was unbearable (kidding) :)
Hopefully more states will follow CA, MA and now CT
I know one bad gay and many good gays.
Actually, the bad gay's flaws include a hyperactive persecution complex, gross insensitivity towards other people, lying, a profound detachment from reality, egocentrism and a peppering of racism. Kinda does remind me of a certain group of people, but not the gays.
You mean like the gays that trick rednecks into getting into a car with them, driving them out onto the prairie, beating them half to death and leaving them tied to a barbed wire fence to freeze to death? Oh, wait...
Equal rights are not "special rights." The right not to be denied a job because of one's sexual orientation is not special. The right to not be denied housing because of one's sexuality is not special. The right of two persons in love to marry one another is not special.
I don't recall any case of gay people beating up a heterosexual because s/he was heterosexual. I do recall many cases of heterosexuals perpetrating violence upon homosexuals because of their sexuality.
Most of the best, positive steps in society have begun as militantcy.
Don't worry, Joey, we won't become violent if you enroll in special ed.
Now now, let's not get into who's special here...
But I'll admit, I don't like it when hateful, radical, militant gays come up to me and violently...throw flowers? Offer me a latte? Talk about sport? Ask where the post office is?
Ok, admit it. You've never seen a militant gay person either.
"It is the radcal gays who are actually more hateful."
Yeah, Larry Craig and Ted Haggard make me angry too.
Special rights like what, the "special" right to hold hands brazenly, in broad daylight without getting harassed or assaulted, or the "special" right to marry a person we love in the eyes of the law? Perhaps the "special" right to be with a loved one in the hospital? Or how about just the "special" right to not be treated like disease spreading lepers, whom even the blood banks are too good to accept our donations. How about the "special" right of serving in the military without having to fear that if your sexual identity was become known, you would be turfed?
Yeah, we spend a lot of time demanding special concessions, don't we?
What special rights? You mean not being beaten half to death and left tied to a tree over night? Not being shut out of the military? Being able to marry the person you love? Being able to talk about your spouse without people doing a double-take when they realize he/she is the "wrong" gender.
Yeah, those hateful, violent, militant gays, standing outside children's funerals chanting "God hates fags" and "Thank God for AIDS".
No, wait, those are the "Christians".
Citation needed for violent and militant gays.
You mean their "equal rights"?
You can disagree with gays, fine. Don't be gay then. But you have no right to demean or abuse them, any more then they have the right to do the same to you. And if you cry abuse or discrimination after I say that, then think about what YOU'VE done to THEM to be treated like that.
I have never heard of a single case of "straight-bashing". And neither have you.
@ Kuyohashi--
Of course there's such a thing as "straight-bashing". It's when someone disagrees publicly with a cis-heterosexual-supremacist, which makes them feel terrible . This is a much more important problem than gay -bashing and trans -bashing, which just involve assault, torture, and murder, but avoid hurting the feelings of the important people.
Confused?
